Jessi
I sat on the edge of Gem's bed, gazing down at my phone. Dougie had sent another message.
"Hey, I think I might have the wrong number. I was looking for my friend Jessi. Sorry."
"You don't have the wrong number."
"It's me."
"You just surprised me that's all."
"In a good way?"
"I'm not sure. I liked the Love Actually quote."
"You did? I was watching it with my sister."
"Weird. I watched it yesterday too."
"Spooky. Do you also have pink nails because your sister got bored?"
"Pretty."
"Ooops. Sorry. I didn't mean to send that ;)"
"Yeah. I bet your finger slipped?"
"Damn. You got me all figured out :)"
"So dinner after the holidays? Maybe?"
"Mate date?"
"And we'll see how it goes?"
"OK. Deal."
"Jess, you ready?" Gem suddenly burst into the room and made me drop my phone. Before I could move she'd bent down and picked it up. "Jess? Are you dating?" She smiled, her eyes scanning my phone screen.
"It's not a date." I pouted, grabbing my phone back.
"Seems very flirty." She smirked.
"Oh, shut up!" I sighed and stuffed my phone back into my pocket. "Hey Gem?"
"Jessi, has a date! Jessi has a date!" She yelled, running down the stairs.
"It's not a date." I yelled, chasing after her. I almost tripped and fell in my hurry but I needed her to stop. I didn't want Harry to hear.
"You have a date? With who?" Anne's head snapped towards me when I made it to the bottom of the stairs, I could tell she was trying to hide a frown.
"Oh, my God! It's not a date." I said, exasperated.
"Who has a date?" Harry said, walking into the Living Room from the Kitchen.
"Jessi!" Gem blurted out and Anne nudged her.
"You have a date? Now? With who?" Harry's eyes burned into mine.
"Obviously not now and it's not a date." I sighed. Why was nobody listening to me?
"The hot McFly one!" Gemma laughed.
"Gemma!" Anne scolded her. Harry's eyes were still fixed on me.
