Departures

It was the day. The day that would change Dianne and Ellie's life forever. They moved to England. Little by little they would take all of their clothes and belongings to their nans house and she would pack their cases. She was the only person who understood how much they needed a break. She used to live in England about 40 years ago she had a flat there that her best friend lived in and her best friend was moving into another flat to be closer to her family. Rita (the girls nan) thought it was the perfect opportunity for the girls to live there. They knew the area from travelling there before when they were younger. Dianne and Ellie had been staying the weekend at their nans house to she could drop them off at the airport at silly o'clock in the morning. The girls had written a letter telling their family where they are.

Dianne💋 "Ellie wake up, come on now or never"
Ellie🌝 "I'm up, I'm up"
Dianne💋 "no your not you lying in bed with your eyes shut, come on Chuck your clothes on we've got to go to the airport"
Ellie🌝 "I'm sleeping on that plane I don't care what you say, it's too early for me"
Dianne💋 "whatever, GET UPPP! In a minute I'll get nan to wake you up and she won't be happy she's already got up early to take us"
Ellie🌝 I opened my eyes and looked around and as I went to grab my phone and glasses I realised they weren't there
"Oi Di where's my stuff?"
Dianne💋 "in the bag, look you've over slept already go and get in the shower so we can go already"
Ellie🌝 "what go for a shower in the morning who do you think I am some sort of demon, no I'm gonna go for a poo, are they my clothes"
Dianne💋 "you go and have your poo but don't be too long cos we havveee tooo gooo"
I passed Ellie her pile of clothes as I looked around our room for the last time and I then stoped myself getting emotional and continued to get ready because it wouldn't look good if I was nagging Ellie then wasn't ready myself. I only had my vest on when I woke Ellie up as she was the only person who would ever see me without several layers on, in other words she was the only person in the world who I felt comfortable around. I was determined to change that bad habit. I brushed through my hair and threw on my jumper already feeling the Australian weather cook me alive, meh I was used to it.
Ellie🌝 "IM BACK" I said bursting through the door and throwing my arms in the air in a y shape. I walked over to Dianne and gave her a hug
"It's gonna be alright you know, you still remember Zoë, that girl who lives a couple of floors down from the flat, well I found her on insta and told her how we're moving back and said that we would have to meet up"
Dianne💋 "ohh yeahh! She was the girl who has the brother, what was his name again?"
Ellie🌝 "Harry, Alfie, Neil? I don't remember"
Dianne💋 "no it began with a J"
Ellie🌝 "James, jack, jake, we could be here a while"
Dianne💋 "NAN WE'RE READY!"
Rita♥️ "okay, well the car is packed up, you sure you don't need me to help get you settled in there?"
Ellie🌝 "nanny we're fine, anyway isn't Joyce meeting us at the airport?"
Rita♥️ "she is I just feel bad shipping you off to the other side of the world"
Dianne💋 "well don't, we both want to go, come on let's get down to the car"
Me and Ellie grabbed our hand luggage nan had paid a little extra money so that we could have a cabin suitcase and a bag each as well, I had my usual ted baker and Ellie had her go to rucksack.

We had packed a spare outfit and anything we would need for the stop in the case then in the bags we had our passports boarding passes anything that we would need immediately.
Ellie🌝 "this is weird, this is probably the last time in a while that we will be driving down this road"
Dianne💋 "it's weird we're gonna be going to England and we will have to start earning money, doing weekly shops"
Rita♥️ "you two will be absolutely fine, you've got each other and that's all you need, right where am I dropping you off?"
Dianne💋 "just at the departures"
We pulled over and the warm Australian sun hit us when we stepped out "Jesus I'm not gonna miss this weather"
Ellie🌝 "yeah cos your always in jumpers"
Rita♥️ "Ellie, don't be mean, and remember I'm am ALWAYS a phone call away, forget time zones, any time day or night you got something on your mind you call me! I love you two girls!"
Dianne💋 "love you too nanny, promise we can still FaceTime"
Rita♥️ "promise!"
Ellie🌝 "love you nan, group hug?"
Rita♥️ "come on then"
Ellie🌝 we all had a massive group hug tears threatening to escape our eyes me and dianne walked off with our hundreds of cases
"We got this girl!"
Dianne💋 "of course we have! Me and you against the world"
