Joe🎮 I didn't mind Dianne sitting next to me at all in fact I loved it. But I was conscious that Zoë and Ellie were on the sofa next to us. I saw Zoë look and then whisper something to Ellie
"Whatever, yeah me and dianne are dating, so what"
Zoë🎄 "alright joe calm down, do you not think we've guessed"
Dianne💋 "what!"
Ellie🌝 "we know you love birds, me and zo have had a bet on it"
Joe🎮 "you've had a bet on our relationship! Who won"
Zoë🎄 "I've got to give Ellie a fiver"
Dianne💋 "YES ELLIE" I exclaimed poking my tongue playfully at Zoë
"What do you want to do tomorrow?"
Zoë🎄 "oh joe Auntie Kate has asked us to have Harvey, I kinda said yes already"
Joe🎮 "what if I had plans"
Zoë🎄 "when do you have plans apart from hanging round here"
Joe🎮 "good point, so I'm guessing it's just us then"
Ellie🌝 "why don't you bring him round here? Di you would be alright wouldn't you?"

Dianne💋 "humm" Ellie broke me from my thoughts
Joe🎮 "would it be alright if me and Zo bought our cousin Harvey round?"
Ellie🌝 it mentally clicked why Dianne had been knocked out of her concentration
Dianne just nodded softly with her head laying on his chest.
"Right I'm going to get some drinks, Di come help me"
Dianne💋 "mhmm"
I walked into the kitchen and Ellie engulfed me in a hug
"I'm okay"
Ellie🌝 "I know you are, I would have loved to meet him too, no one has forgotten about him don't worry"
Dianne💋 "my mum has, and my dad, they never wants to talk about him, they dont mention his name. They have one daughter that's all. I'll be alright tomorrow, I love kids even if they are called Harvey"
Harvey was my brother, he died before I had the chance to meet him, people think it's stupid to miss someone you never met.
Ellie🌝 "Do you want to tell them?"
Dianne💋 "no they'll think I'm stupid, it's fine come on let's get drinks"
I walked into the living room and asked for drinks, joe said he was fine and Zoë said that she would have a lemonade, I had a water and Ellie had a coke. We brought the drinks in and I snuggled back in with joe.
I whispered in his ear
"Can we go into my room I want to chat with you, nothing serious"
He whispered into my hair sure and gave it a kiss
Joe🎮 "Zo what time are we picking Harvey up?"
Zoë🎄 "dads got him until 11 so about quarter too"
Joe🎮 "okay, who are we staying with tonight?"
Zoë🎄 "mum, Ellie and Di I don't want to be rude but I do think we will have to go home tonight"
Dianne💋 "that's not rude it's fine"
Ellie🌝 "yeahh!"
Dianne💋 "I think I'm gonna head to my room and watch some Netflix, I'm not going to sleep tho"
Ellie🌝 "okay that's fine"
Joe🎮 "I assume you want me to come"
I said Dianne looking at me like a tired puppy, she just nodded. She took my hand and led her into her room
"I hear you wanted a chat?"
Dianne💋 joe sat on my bed and I climbed on next to him and burst into tears
"I'm a-s-Sorry!"
Joe🎮 "what about" I pulled Dianne onto my lap and she cried almost inaudible into my shoulder.
Dianne💋 "just everything, I suppose y-you w-want a p-proper expiation"
Joe🎮 "I don't want one, it doesn't matter to me but I agree with Ellie, you need to quit, I don't want to lose you! Smoking kills babe"
Dianne💋 I nodded and whispered "one a day doesn't"
Joe🎮 "yes it does di, when I leave here tonight I want no silly business! You understand"
Dianne💋 "I w-won't! I feel really stupid for saying this but you need to do me a favour"
Joe🎮 "you never sound stupid, of course"
Dianne💋 "I know exactly what Ellie is gonna do tonight, once in asleep she will hide everything in this house that could damage me. She's gonna turn my room upside down looking for cigarettes..."
Joe🎮 "I'm not hiding stuff for you!"
Dianne💋 "I'm not asking you to! I need you to take this. Don't read it but please can I just have it back in the morning"
I got up and walked over to my bed side table and got out a little pink envelope with 'I'm sorry it came to this' on the front. I handed it to him with that bit facing the ground.
I was ashamed of myself. I immediately snatched it back off of joe.
"No actually it's fine, I'll keep hold of it"
Joe🎮 I knew what I would be, I asked the question preparing me for the worst
"What is it dianne"
I said sounding solace and on the brink of tears
Dianne💋 "oh it's nothing just me being silly, look I'll keep hold of it"
I felt sick, I got this immense feeling deep down that joe knew exactly what it was.
Joe🎮 "no Dianne, I know exactly what it is, please let me read it"
I took it out of Diannes hand and opened it up. She walked out of the room. I didn't bother to follow her I wanted to know what she would say in the note. I read the first line and already there was a tear mark on the paper. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and took a picture of it. I continued reading it. The words she had made my emotions burst. They said that boys shouldn't show emotions or feelings but that was wrong. I didn't care I finished reading it and the door clicked, my head was in my hands I didn't care who saw me.
Dianne💋 "I assume you've read it"
I said wanting the ground to swallow me up
Joe🎮 I pulled Dianne to me and pulled her into the bed so that we were both sobbing into each other's shoulders
"You effing dare Dianne Buswell! You dare okay!"
Dianne💋 I didn't reply, all I could muster was a nod
Joe🎮 "I l-Love you too much to lose you! I thought I was loosing you today I couldn't cope Dianne, your life may be hard but when you die think how many people are going to be in pieces. You have touched so many lives. Think how Ellie will feel think how Zoë will feel, think how I would feel"
Dianne💋 "I-it's just hard joe"
Joe🎮 "I know it is, i know"
I sat and rubbed Diannes back as I thought of what else to say
"I need to tell someone, I'm worried about you dianne"
Dianne💋 "NO! Don't. I will talk I promise I will but you can't tell anyone especially not Ellie. I think she would kill me before I had any chance to kill myself"
Joe🎮 "dont say that, okay I won't so long as you promise me something"
Dianne💋 "fine"
Joe🎮 "when you feel like this you tell me! You understand"
Dianne💋 "don't think I will, Australia made me feel like it, now I have you and I'm away from my family apart from Ellie obviously, I have my own little family here already, just the four of us"
Joe🎮 "good"
