When Flamespark woke, he was lying in a mossy clearing, with Ashpaw staring at his limp body, horrified.
"A...Ash....Ashpaw..... ASHPAW!" Flamespark tried standing up, but his legs were too wobbly and weak.
"Flamespark..." Ashpaw gaped. "I..I was out hunting... and... and I saw your limp body... And you were bleeding... You had blacked out... And you were limp.... I thought.... You were dead..."
"MY TAIL!" Flamespark screeched, his voice wheezing. He couldn't move his tail! If he could feel it, it would have hurt so much, as there was a very deep wound at the base of his long tail, almost cutting it off. Whatever gave him this must have really sharp claws...
Lightningpaw burst through the bushes, looking panicked. "I heard a scream, are you alright Ashpa-" He caught sight of Flamespark. Who had done this? "...."

".........."
Lightningpaw couldn't find the words.
"TAKE HIM TO THE MEDICINE DEN ALREADY!!! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL HIM YOU BATBLIND FOOL?" He suddenly burst out. "TAKE HIM AWAY! TAKE HIM TO THE MEDICINE DEN!"
Ashpaw hissed at him. "HE IS MY KIN! HE IS DESTINED TO DIE ALONE! HE TOLD ME! HE EVEN HAD A PROPHECY! HE ISN'T ALONE! HAWKFLOWER WILL ALWAYS LOOK AFTER HIM ANYWAY! I WILL ALWAYS LOOK AFTER HIM!"
That had come out the wrong way.
"He told me of his prophecy, he said, a cat will die because of forgetting, trapped in the stars you leave friends in regretting! Lightningpaw, please listen.....!"
But Lightningpaw had already vanished into the bushes.
Flamespark had fainted. He was going to die of blood loss if help didn't come. Ashpaw prayed to Starclan that Lightningpaw had fetched the medicine cat...
Mothreed, Leafclan medicine cat and Lightningpaw's father burst through the ferns, minutes later, but was it too late to save Flamespark?
Ashpaw was worried sick. She couldn't stop crying and she couldn't take it anymore. Her dizzy head whizzed around and she fainted.
Hawkflower has asleep, lost deep in dreams, but suddenly she awoke, and sensed something was wrong.
It was Flamespark.
Flamespark was near death.
Hawkflower raced out of her den, took a sharp turn, and pelted toward Leafclan, as fast as a cheetah. Starclan was with her. She could feel it as she ran, keeping her from falling over, getting tired or slowing down.
"FLAMESPARK!" Hawkflower shouted into the night. "I WON'T FORGET YOU THIS TIME!!!! I PROMISE I WON'T LET YOU DIE!!!"
