When I walked down the stairs, everything went quiet. I knew they were all there. I knew they were all talking about me.

I went into the practice room and everyone was looking from me to Luke and back again. He was sitting down in one of the spinney chairs that were like cushy stools.

“Hey, guys.” I said and walked over to Luke and put and arm around his waist.

“Uhm, hi.” Ashton said.

“Hey,” Luke said, with that cheesy grin. I could tell he was still buzzing off of our kiss from the night before.

“What is y’alls deal? You’re acting really weird.” I said looking at the other three.

“What did you do last night?” Michael asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Oh, went on a date.” I said, knowing they already knew.

“Oh okay, who’d you go with?” Calum asked.

“Oh, this really cute guy that’s in this band.” I told them, nodding, grinning. “He’s pretty good, but the rest of his band sucks ass.”

“Oh, was he a good kisser?” Ashton asked, nosily.

“Ashton!” Luke said, embarrassed.

“Oh yes. Very dreamy. Now that everyone has invaded my personal life…” they all laughed. “Where is my dad?”

“Oh, uhh he got called in to work for some new guitar they’re working on.” Luke told me.

“Oh okay, I’m gonna go call my mom… Stay weird.” I rubbed Luke’s back a little bit and walked out of the practice room.

“’I love her accent!’” Calum said, imitating Luke.

“’You guys just don’t understand the chemistry we have! It totally came out of nowhere.” Ashton said, also imitating Luke.

“Oh and don’t forget, ‘She likes One Direction, but she’s not, like, the boy band type, she totally likes Nirvana too! I think she just likes the na na na na na na na na thing they have going on in that one song.’” Michael chimed in.

“I hate this band.” Luke laughed.

“Hey!” I yelled from the kitchen.

“What?” Ash yelled back.

“That would make a good song!” I yelled toward the practice room.

“Mrs. All American!” Michael yelled to me.

“No, she’s not all American! Mrs. All American and One Fourth Irish!” Calum said back and we all laughed.

“Walk my way Mrs. All American and One Fourth Irish!” I yelled back, it was one hell of a joke.

“Mrs. All American is about you?” Justin looked shocked, “I love that song.”

“Well, inspired by me. It was more of a joke at first, but then they played it for my dad, and before they or I even told him the story, he was like, ‘Well, aside from the fact that this about how Luke thinks of my daughter, I like it.’” I told him. “But yeah, we started hanging out every night, and we really bonded. The cliché.” I laughed.

“No love story is cliché. And I can tell, especially not yours.”

“I hope not…” I said softly. “But he was, he is so awkward. People ask me sometimes, ‘What is it like to date Luke Hemmings from 5SOS?’ and it’s just like, I don’t see him that way. Luke isn’t ‘Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of Summer’ when it’s just him and I… he’s just… Hemmo. The tall, dorky kid, who showed up at my doorstep, trying to make it in good with my father. He’s just that kid that tripped on an untied shoelace while he was worshiping my contact on his phone. He’s just Luke.”

“Yeah, I mean it must be tough. I’m sure people think that your relationship is perfect, when in reality, no relationship is perfect, right?”

“Oh, yeah, absolutely. I mean, we have definitely had our ups and downs. But the thing about Luke, is that he is always the bigger person, even when what we are arguing about isn’t even his fault. We’ve had our fair share of arguments, but for any of them that didn’t resolve themselves quickly, he wrote me a song.”

“Mrs. All American isn’t the only one about you?” he asks me, crinkling his eyebrows.

“Oh, no.” I replied.

“What other ones? That I would know.” he asks.

“Don’t Stop, Out of my Limit, Beside You, which were all written by Luke, and then,” I laughed, “Good Girls, was about this time that I snuck out of the house and Ashton and Mikey saw Luke and I at a party.”

“I’ve gotta hear this one.” Justin smiled at me.

“Okay so this song would not have been written, at least not about me, if my dad wouldn’t have put his foot down.”
