“Hey, I’m gonna go to a party with Luke tonight, okay?” I asked, but I wasn’t really asking, the ‘Okay?’ was really more of a sentence ender that a permission asker.
“You know what, no. That’s not okay.” he snapped. I looked at him like he was crazy, because he never said no. “Look, I like Luke, he’s a good kid and I would rather you date him than a lot of other guys out there, but you two have been spending entirely too much time together lately. So no. You can’t go to this party with Luke. You can stay home and be your own person for once.”
I looked at him with crinkled eyebrows, but I was honestly hurt. He knew good and well that I was my own person. I was kind of a hermit, if anything, an introvert is maybe a better word. I hung out with Luke, and the other guys, but they were Luke’s friends, I didn’t really have any girlfriends and I didn’t do all that much socializing, outside of when we went to parties. Parties were kind of a must. I was great at making friends, when I chose to make them, and I did it well at parties. I had friends, just not close ones. Dad knew this.
I could tell that he immediately regretted what he had said.
And even though I was hurt, “Oh. K. Thanks.” was all I said.
“Look I’m sorry, I had a rough day at work and-” I cut him off.
“No, it’s fine. You’re right.”
“I am?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’ll stay at home and be my own person.” I said happily, and ran up the steps. I was hurt though.
I didn’t exactly stay home and be my own person.
I waited for him to go to his room and I snuck out the bathroom window. I called Luke and told him to pick me up at the neighbor’s house. I just walked to their yard when I saw him coming.
When Luke saw me walk over to the neighbor’s yard, he knew that I wasn’t supposed to be going.
“You snuck out?” he questioned. “Really?”
“So did you.” I smirked and pecked his lips, getting situated in the passenger seat.
He looked down, and then back at me. “How do you know that?”
“Babe, you sneak out to go to all these parties, I know Ms. Liz doesn’t let you go to them.” I said, smoothly.
“Okay, you got me, but this is different.” he protested.
“Fine, I won’t do it again, because he probably won’t say no again, but just drive please.” I said.
“Not until I get a proper kiss.” he smirked, turning towards me before swallowing my face. It sounds gross, but believe me it’s always hot.
When we got to the party, the first people we saw were Ashton and Michael.
“Where’s Cal?” Luke yelled over the blaring speakers.
“His mum wouldn’t let him come.” Ashton yelled back.
“Yeah, well she’s not supposed to be here either, but neither am I, so, I guess I can’t really say anything.” Luke told them, and their faces were totally shocked.
Ash pulled in everyone in for a group hug, but I think it was so everyone could hear what he was going to say. “I thought you were a good girl!” he said loudly, in my ear.
“Then forget what you thought, ‘cause good girls are bad girls that haven’t been caught.” I said, er, screamed back to him.
“Oh my god! That’s a song! I’m writing it when I get home.” Ashton said.
“Hey, I’m helping with it, I was here!” Michael said back and we all laughed, not knowing that this song would be a huge hit.
