Confusion

The familiar voices pulled me towards one specific door. Although the doors were all identical, I couldn't have gotten the wrong room. I spotted several male forms crowding around a bed through the window in the door.

"Here's some apples from my mom. She made me bring them."

"Wow, so sincere." Someone laughed and accepted the gift along with a rustling sound.

Is that... Daniel? What's he doing in the hospital? How come I didn't know about this? I just about caught a glimpse of the blue cast encasing his arm, supported by a sling which hung on his neck. Everyone had already signed it. There were black scribbles all over the cast.

Although I peered through the window discretely, it did not help that I was learning against the door.

The sliding door opened and I tripped into Daniel's room.

It was painful already realising what I just did but I looked up to see several pairs of familiar eyes looking at me.

"Hi..." I forced out.

"Oh... Daehwi... hey..." Daniel seemed confused himself. Did they not want me to be here?

"How come you're in the hospital?"

"I fell on it whilst dancing... again." He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand.

I didn't like this feeling. My mind was completely empty so I didn't know what to say, yet everyone was still standing in he same place looking at us all. I wanted to ask them. Ask them why they didn't tell me, why wasn't I aware that my 'friend' had hurt himself before aswell? Did they really not think of me as their friend?

"How come you're at the hospital? Are you injured?" Minhyun asked me.

"Ah no, I'm here for Jinyoung." I waved my hands.

"What, Jinyoung is in the hospital! Why?" Jihoon asked.

"He was hurt by some people yesterday."

"Who?!"

"Some old classmates."

"They aren't classmates if they hurt him. Can we see him?"

"I guess? But I came to get a nurse for him."

"We'll come with you then." Jihoon replied. "We're only gonna go for a bit, but we'll be back soon Daniel."

"Yeah, that's fine." Daniel confirmed.

Everyone followed me out the door and I headed to the reception. They were all behind me and it felt really weird. No one talked to me on the way and I asked for a nurse when we arrived.

Upon returning to Jinyoung's room, the others all immediately crowded his bed, shouting like wild monkeys - well, except for Minhyun and Jisung.

The nurse checked Jinyoung and confirmed that he could be discharged by the end of the day. Everyone cheered and continued talking to him. He seemed to be happy with them, smiling to the point where his eyes were like crescents. I didn't feel comfortable standing in the corner of the room so I left.

But when I walked out that door, Daniel was in front of me.
