"The big 17 Daniel, the age where you get no legal advantages above anyone, unlike 16 and 18, so we gotta make it a big event and make up for that." Corbyn unzipped his backpack and pulled out his laptop.

"What did 17 ever do to you." Jack smiled.

"Nothing, just look," He turned the screen around showing a flashy invite, "we hang these babies up all over campus, my friend's dad is away for the weekend, we use his giant house to throw Daniel the most epic party of our whole high school career." He leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest satisfied with his idea.

"That's great baby, but are we just going to invite people that we've never even talked to before?" Christina questioned, and we all shook our heads in agreement.

"Uh yeah." He shook his head as to say 'obviously'

"I think you guys are overlooking the potential of this, make a gift mandatory, Daniel gets like thousands of presents." Zach added on to Corbyn's idea, giving him a high five.

"That's if anyone bothered to come." Daniel frowned.

"Oh they will, they will." Corbyn nodded grinning.

"You seem confident." Zoë smiled.

"Free alcohol." He said furtively.

"From where?" I asked bewildered. None of us had even thought of touching alcohol.

"Jack's sister."

"She's not 21 yet." Jack stared.

"Yeah, but her boyfriend is."

"Corbyn you are a genius." Zach high fives him again.

"I'm down." Daniel shrugged, getting a high five from the two idiots sitting next and across from him. Eventually we all agreed.

"Do you think anyone will show up to Daniel's party?" Jonah asked running his hand through my hair as we cuddled on my neatly made bed.

"Yeah, I think quite a few people will show up."

"Are we going to go?"

"Why wouldn't we go?" I sat up from my comfortable position in confusion.

"I mean, I was kinda planning a surprise date, but you're right, Daniel is our friend we should go." Jonah looked down chagrined.

"Damn right we are going." I laid back down, trying to get comfortable again, "why don't we just go on a date tonight?" I suggested.

"It's a Tuesday."

"So, let's go to the park or something, watch the stars, it could be romantic."

"Yeah, why not."

"I think that's the big dipper." I pointed to a line of stars in the sky.

"Yeah, I think so too." I could hear the smile in his voice. The wind blew gently but it wasn't too cold. It was spring then, the wind was cool, but not too cold and the sky was clear.

Jonah and I laid hand in hand on a blanket we had found in the trunk of his car. The night was perfect right out of a movie.

"I love you Sophie." He held himself up with his forearm, and leaned closer to me.

"I love you too." He propped myself up on my elbows and planted a kiss softly on his lips.
