Me to Corbyn
Meet me in Hutchen's
for student council lunchCorbyn
Ok 👍I shut my phone off, waiting for him to come through the double doors. After a good five minutes I saw his bleach blonde hair peering just above the book shelves.
"Corbyn!" I exclaimed, seeing my new friend for the first time since the week prior.
"Sophie!" He mimicked my enthusiasm.
"Lunch is in there, come on before all the pizza is gone." He followed as I walked into the classroom. The smell of pizza made our mouths water.
"Thanks for inviting me."
"Don't mention it." I smiled. "How was the movie with Christina?"
"It was fun, she's like a model I can't believe she'd even want to go to the movies with me." I could see his face turn red at the thought of her. It made me happy.
"She wants to go to the dance with you, you should ask her." I found it fun playing love genie.
"Really!" He seemed shocked.
"Yeah, she's been saying all weekend how she wants you to go with her. It's all she talks about."
"Okay, I'll ask her, but don't tell her, I want it to be a surprise."
—
"I think I'm going to wear this one." I spun around in a long sparkly blue dress, admiring it's beauty in the mirror.
"It looks too tacky." Christina pursed her lips.
I let out a sigh of defeat.
"I like it, it looks nice. It brings out your eyes." Daniel smiled.
"Okay weirdo." Christina raised an eyebrow at his comment.
"What! I'm not being weird, I'm just stating the facts."
"Yeah, I'm just teasing, lighten up Seavey." She laughed lightly.
"Thank you Daniel. But Christina is right, it is kind of tacky." I walked back into the dressing room to try on another dress. This time a short red one with spaghetti straps. Simple but effective.
"Maybe Jonah likes tacky." Daniel suggested.
"Jonah does not like tacky, who likes tacky?" Christina retorted.
"How do you know, you're not Jonah."
"Neither are you."
"All I'm saying is that I'm a guy, and I would know what other guys like." Daniel said under his breath.
"Yeah well, guy best friends don't know what their best friend's boyfriend likes."
"He's not my boyfriend." I yelled from the stall.
"Is it on yet?" Christina yelled as a response.
"Yeah." I walked out, not expecting them to stare at me with widened eyes.
"Damn gurl, looking hot." Christina snapped her fingers.
"Yeah, you look, like really good." Daniel nodded his head in agreement.
"Is it really "winter-ball" enough though?" I questioned crossing my arms.
"Doesn't matter, you're gonna take the breath outta that boy and that's all that matters."
"Thanks." I went back into the stall to change into my regular clothes.
"Are you going to the dance?" Daniel asked Christina.
"I'm not going with you."
"Who said I wanted to go with you I was only wondering." I could hear the confusion in his voice.
"Yeah, I'm going, tell Corbyn to ask me to go though." She told him.
"Maybe if you weren't so mean to me."
Daniel and Christina had a weird relationship. I could never really tell if they hated each other or not. At points they acted like the other was the worst person on earth, and then at other times they were best friends. Looking at it from an outside point of view one might think it was a weird way of flirting, but we all knew they wouldn't date each other if the world depended on it. It was sort of a frienemie situation. I just had to put up with it as they both were my best friends.
