"Stop moving or I'm gonna burn your hair." Christina worked on taming the mess that I called hair.
"Don't pull then, it hurts." I winced as she tugged on my locks.
"Last curl." I watched her wrap my hair around the wand and let fall off so perfectly. I smiled at myself in the mirror. It was the only time I was okay with how my hair looked.
"Thank you, I love it so much."
"You look so good." She squealed giving me a side hug.
"Let's go meet the boys I guess." I stood up, butterflies filling my stomach.
We walked down the stairs into Christina's living room where the five boys and her parents waited.
"Oh you two look so gorgeous." Her mom took her phone out and started taking picture.
"Mom stop." Christina groaned.
We mingled amongst ourselves for a minute, which meant I found myself by Jonah's side.
"You do look really pretty." He grabbed both my hands, turning my cheeks a rosy pink.
"You look nice too." I smiled, admiring his white button up, black pants, and black tie.

The gym was decorated with paper snow flakes hung from the ceiling, Christmas lights all around, and an inflatable snowman in the corner that we had to convince Zach so desperately not to pop.
I was grasped onto Jonah's arm the moment we got there, I was just so happy he wanted to go to the dance with me.
"Hey, I'm going to get us something to drink, I'll be back in a second." Jonah removed my hand from his arm and disappeared into the crowd of people.
I waited by the bleachers, standing on my tip toes to see over everyone. I couldn't see him. After about ten minutes, he hadn't come back. I decided to make my way to the punch table to see what was the hold up.
I didn't even get to the table when I saw him. There he was, dancing with his ex girlfriend. Destiny Fowler.
It felt like my heart had been stabbed over and over again with the sharpest knife. I wanted to go up and slap him, ask him what in the hell he was doing. Instead I found myself running through the gym doors and out into the hallway.
—
"Soph, what's wrong?" I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked over to see Daniel sitting down next to me.
"Jonah was dancing with Destiny." I leaned my head in his shoulder.
"Why? Didn't they break up?" He questioned confused.
"Yeah. I guess she's better than me though."
"Never, you are like the greatest person I've ever met." He rested his head on mine.
"You have to say that, you're my best friend." I laughed lightly, wiping tears from my cheek.
"Yeah well, Jonah missed out on something great."
"Thanks."
"Would you want to go dance with me?" He stood up, holding his hand out to me.
"Yeah, that sounds nice." I grabbed his hand and allowed him to help me to my feet.
