"So, the tracksuit wearing guy was Yato?" I asked Hiyori while we were on our way to school on Monday.
I had found out about Hiyori's problem, Daikoku's lies, Kofuku's secret, and all of them being tied together. Oh, and there was also the blonde headed boy that was Yato's Regalia. However, when I found out it was Friday, and my family had rules. Weekends were for homework and weeknights were for friendship gatherings. Right after the strange boy ran away, I decided to run after him.
Unfortunately, my legs were stubby compared to his ridiculously long chicken legs, and I soon lost him. However, when I did lose him, I had found myself in front of my house. And my father outside sitting on the step drinking tea. He had come home early. So, I discarded that I was supposed to be getting answers at Kofuku's and talked with my dad.
"Yes, that was. how do you know him?" Hiyori questioned me.
"My dreams." I answered.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Didn't I already explain this to you?" I asked her.
Hiyori just stared at me with a blank face. Did I tell her or was that a dream too? Was my whole existence being swallowed by a force that controls and manipulates dreams? Was I caught in whatever that was?
"To tell you the truth, I don't really know. I remember you saying something similar before, but I may have not been paying any attention to you." Hiyori explained.
She probably smelled something off me. She is, afterall, part phantom. Could she still smell things like that when she's not in her phantom form? I don't know, but I probably won't ask her about it, because it is weird. The question is weird. Perhaps (depending on what she gives me) the answer is weird too.
"Well, I have dreams. Of me, but it is these occurences that lead up to my death. And they all range from torturous murder to sacrificial suicides. But they all have somethings in common. If a scenario has happened before, it happens the same way and ends in the same way it did before. The events that lead to my death happen the same. Just like rereading a book. The time may be slower, but it is still the same number of pages." I explained to her.
"Where does Yato fit in?" she asked me as we climbed the stairs of our high school.
"His name has appeared in every single one of my dreams." I explained to her. "He's connected to what I really am. The age old question of who am I could easily be answered by Yato."
"Then, I'll help you." Hiyori told me.
"Huh?" I asked her raising an eyebrow in her direction.
"I'll help you with your Yato situation. I am the closest thing you have to a best friend here!" Hiyori declared. "That can help you in this situation!"
She wasn't wrong, but she wasn't right either. I did have a best friend, and that was Kofuku (some would even call my cat my best friend, but that's a little creepy). But if I would label Hiyori anything, it would be right smack dab in the middle between best friend and close friend.
"Thank you." I told her.

"Okay, are you going to explain to me what she's doing here?" Yato asked Kofuku and Daikoku.
"Whatever do you mean, Yati?" Kofuku asked him all innocent.
"You know exactly what I mean!" Yato yelled at the pink haired goddess of poverty.
"You will not yell at my lady like that!" Daikoku exclaimed coming to his god's defense (and rising from his seat to do it).
"Well, would you please explain to me why the hell was the reincarnation of my deceased girlfriend in your hut?" Yato yelled.
"She came to us, Yato. Not the other way around." Daikoku explained sitting back down.
"Plus, this isn't the first time she's reincarnated. And haven't you completely ignored your feelings for the same girl since the late 1800's?" Kofuku questioned.
"That... that... that... that..." Yato held his head low and sighed. "That is true."
"Then, what are you doing? You're angry at us when you should be angry at yourself. You're the one that the same soul has cared about for the past one thousand years," said Daikoku, "and you've done nothing since you've been trying to close yourself off from her."
"Can't you just talk to [N/N], Yati?" Kofuku asked him.
"You know I can't." he said.
"Why not?" Daikoku asked.
"Because she's died every time because of me!" Yato exclained.
"What-." Daikoku started before Yato's sorry excuse for a phone started to ring.
"You've reached Delivery God Yato! What do you wish?" said Yato.
