Dad was not here. Dad was supposed to be back, but he wasn't. And I was stuck with my stepmother once again. If I have to spend another day with her here. I might as well end my suffering now.

"Where do you think you're going, young lady?" My stepmother whipped sround in her desk chair.

"I'm meeting with a friend." I told her. I was meeting with Hiyori at Kofuku's place.

"You know the rules. No outside finagling during the work week." she said. How did I know she was going to say that?

"It's for a project due Friday. We're doing a presentation either Friday or Monday for English." I lied.

There was no project. I was meeting with them to get more insight on my dreams. After the whole throw down of everything I've ever known and trusted into the dirt, I had been in a slump and only recently had I agreed to talk with them.

She sighed. "Fine. You can go." I sent her a smile and rushed out of there, grabbing both my cat and my backpack on my way out.

I ran towards Kofuku's place and thrust open the sliding door. "I'm here! She let me go!"

"Meow!" Izuku said jumping out ot my arms.

"And you brought your cat?" Hiyori said eyeing the small creature.

"Yes. I did. You noticed." I said sitting down on the table.

"How did you get out?" Kofuku asked.

"Told my stepmom that I was coming to do a school project. So... why do you want me to be here?" I asked them.

"We have to tell you something." Daikoku said. "Hopefully, all of your questions will be answered after we explain it to you."

"You are not a human." Kofuku said.

"You're a race of soul called Lethe. You have nightmares because you're reliving your death over and over again." Daikoku explained.
