It took me a minute but I finally got the hang of the grappling hooks.

Dad and I made it to Gotham square which was currently covered in vines from poison ivy.

We started walking, and we hadn't made it more than three steps before vines hungrily wrapped around dad and I, separating us.

"Well well looks like I caught a bat and a bird." Poison ivy said as she walked towards us. She was in love with dad, and I couldn't understand it. "No wait I caught a bat, but it isn't a bird this time, who are you?" She was genuinely curious, ivy was one of those baddies who actually had emotions, and wasn't completely psychotic. maybe just a little bit of a mother hen, she wasn't all bad, just loved her plants is all.

"My name is Amethyst"

"Got a new sidekick Batman? Where's robin?"

"No she's new, robin is not coming"

"Aw but I love that cute little bird" she walked up to me, and put a hand on my cheek.

"Am I wrapped in Canarian ivy? Well I guess that makes sense because we're on the east coast but why didn't you just use common ivy?"

"I think I like this one better than the bird Batman." She turned to me "You seem to know your ivy plants, do you like plants or are you just super smart?"

"I think it's a combination of both, I love plants, I even have my own mini garden, and I'm also smart, in my family I'm the one who has a green thumb so I take care of the plants in our house"

"Oh I definitely like her, where'd you find her? Maybe I'll just keep her" Batman started to protest.

"There is no possible way she's staying with you"

"It's ok Batman," I turned to ivy "I'm sorry miss ivy but i need to stay with Batman, but I'd love to talk with you about more plants, if you really wanted to"

"So well mannered, alright fine you can keep her as long as I get to hang out with her, I won't try to take her." Relief washed through me. I didn't want to leave my family.

"What if you keep your nose clean, and we could visit each other on tuesdays here, around midnight?"

"I'll think about it, ok honey, now go and play heroes or whatever, I guess I'll just leave, consider this a free win Batman" she walked away and we kind of gaped at her in shock. Villains never give up that easily.

"Well I think she might like me"

"Usually she's much harder to talk down..."

We spent the rest of the night on patrol, nothing eventful really happening.

By the time we got back I was exhausted and was asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.
