The Adopted Son of Abby Lee (Dance Moms Fic)

Chapter 4: Nexstar Dancin' in L.A.

In Upland, a town in the state of California that was west of Los Angeles, which is one of the biggest cities in the state, the van that had Abby, Cameron, Gianna, Julie, the moms and the girls was seen arriving at Upland High School where Nexstar competition was being held at.

"Ok, this is where the competition starts!" Abby told the girls. "Also, Cameron's old friend Julie is with us and we know you know her from when you were little, so show her what you can do these days!"

Everybody walked in and Cameron got them checked in and they were walking to their dressing room and as Cameron looked at the program, he noticed something.

"Mom, i don't know why, but i'm looking at the program and i see that Maddie is listed." Cameron told Abby, who looked at the program and saw that Maddie was listed.

"You're right, we originally had sent an entry in for her to do a solo." Abby added. "She usually does a solo."

Julie checked it out and noticed that as well. "So what's gonna happen?"

"No clue, Jules." Cameron answered his friend as they entered one of the classrooms that was being used as a dressing room.

"Abby, Cameron, do you two know what's first?" Melissa asked.

"Mel, come here." Cameron whispered as Melissa approached him and Abby.

"What's up?" Melissa wondered.

"Remember, how we told you at Pyramid that we entered a solo for her and then we cancelled it because of what happened in New Jersey?" Abby told Melissa.

"Yeah." Melissa stated

"We checked and it's still in there." Cameron added as Christi approached them.

"I couldn't help but overhear, but what are the chances they'll announce Maddie?" Christi wondered.

"To tell you the truth, it could be likely." Abby replied as she signaled for Julie to approach them.

"What's going on, Abby?" Julie asked her former dance teacher.

"I can tell that you know that Maddie's listed in the program, what do you think should happen?"

"Here's how i see it from my point of view, Maddie is a scratch and that would mean that the whole auditorium, and every kid who is here competing are gonna know that she was needed to do something and she chose not to do it." Julie told them. "Maddie, come here, please."

Maddie went over to where Abby, Cameron and Julie were and they noticed she wasn't feeling well as Christi and Melissa watched.

"Maddie, we know you aren't feeling well and all, but what if you were in a Broadway show eight times a week, would you go or call in sick?" Abby asked.

"Is it all right if i do it next week?" Maddie suggested.

"But next week, you aren't in the program, Abby and Cam told me that they don't know who'll get to dance next week." Julie told her.

"I think next week."

"You know, we believe in you and Chloe and we don't think you two are big failures. You have to believe in yourself now." Abby stated.

"And you maybe able to go later." Cameron added, then the stagehand came in and let them know that the trio was first, then the solos, Chloe, Brooke and Paige all went to the wings of the stage as Abby, Cameron, Julie, Gianna, Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia and the moms all went to their seats.

"Coming up in our duet/trio division we have Chloe, Brooke and Paige from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Suspicion!" Chloe, Brooke and Paige strutted on to the stage and the three girls went into their starting pose, then when the music started, they did well at first but when Chloe and Brooke did a high kick, Paige didn't, but they completed the dance and headed off stage and they all went backstage.
