Screams could be heard from across the ward at the Tulsa Women's Hospital, but not from an injury.

Mrs. Curtis was giving birth for the second time

Nurses were rushing around the delivery room preparing for the birth of her second child, and it was time for her to push.

"Almost there hon, I can see the head. keep on pushing." Mr. Curtis comforts her as she grips his hand with the strength of a thousand men.

"one last push!" the doctor says, ready to grab the baby and rush it over to take vitals.

all of the sudden a loud cry can be heard.

"congratulations, its a boy!" A nurse announces from the table as she weighs the newborn.

But all of the sudden everything goes into panic mode.

"Mrs. Curtis, this is quite unexpected but we have reason to believe that there is another baby to deliver."

"what?" she cried in disbelief. Never in a million years had she expected twins.

"ma'am i'm going to need you to keep pushing" the doctor replied. And she did. 2 painful hours of labor later she had a little girl. The most beautiful little girl anyone in the delivery room had ever seen. But she wasn't seen for long.

Immediately she was rushed to the NICU. She hadn't been crying when she was born and she had been in the womb for longer than expected. She was also tiny. So tiny that she needed help breathing.

"Mrs. and Mr. Curtis i'm afraid that your baby girl has a very small chance of survival. We're doing everything we can to save her."

Mrs. Curtis broke down in tears, holding her baby boy close to her. She had named him Sodapop and he was already a wild one. screaming and crying ever since he was born.

after three painful hours of waiting in the NICU waiting room, a doctor emerged with a their tiny baby girl.

"She's alright, and in perfect health. We don't know how it was possible, but she's still with us, and she's free to go home with you." The doctor said. As soon as the baby girl was brought in everything seemed to be calm. Even sodapop stopped crying and no one else was able to calm him.

Mrs. Curtis took her into her arms and gazed down into her beautiful big (e/c) eyes

"she's a miracle."
