41: i need you.
the next day, nana didn't show up. i'm devastated, i saw how hurt she was yesterday inside and outside. i really wanna comfort her, hug her tight, keep her around my arms till the pain goes away. if jieun didn't show up, this wouldn't happen, but of course this was her plan. now renjun knows that me and nana like each other. is it possible that we would get kicked out? i do hope jieun get kicked out as well, i mean like she broke a rule as well.
"jeno?!" jaemin snapped his fingers in front of my face. i winced and jumped out of my thoughts, i looked around and saw my friends but sighed. nana wasn't here, i she really want her to be here. "what?" i mumbled and looked down at my tray.
"did the nana message you? is she sick?" chenle asked and seemed very worried. "isn't it obvious? she's not sick! she didn't want to show up since what happened yesterday!" i spoke sharply making the youngsters flinch and remain silence.
"what even happened back there?" mirae asked and fisted her hands. "you were there, you too renjun. tell us." harvey said and gave all his attention to me and renjun. i sighed and looked down, not wanting to answer which was a signal for renjun to tell the story.
"jieun and nana had a fight." renjun commenced as the DNYL members nodded and listened carefully. "i entered the room and i did see jieun giving nana a slap. it alarmed me so i had to stop them. when i questioned them what happened, nana couldn't talk since the slap stung her hard. then jieun seemed very scared and panicked, but she told me that she had to defend herself since nana harmed her first and nana said that she was lying.... i just don't really know who to believe at-" renjun got cut off as i slammed my fist on the table, not too hard.
"what the hell renjun? isn't it obvious, of course nana wouldn't do such things like that. i know jieun more than any of you, she is filled with lies and evil." i said and wanted them to believe me. i didn't want to put nana into such a horrible position, because of my ex which means.... because of me.
"but why would nana slap jieun?" mark asked. haechan sighed and didn't like the topic we were talking about, so he clinged to mark and shut his eyes.
renjun stared at me, my eyes began to shake and i knew renjun was gonna say it.... but i wasn't scared anymore.
renjun eyed mark. "jieun explained, that the reason why nana harmed her was because..... she liked jeno." renjun paused and i gulped, looking down and heard the small gasp from them. "that nana was so jealous to see jieun try to make up with jeno, that she couldn't bear to see jieun with jeno."
"yeah she did admit that she likes me." i said and exhaled. "but she never harmed jieun. jieun's plan was to break me and nana apart, yes i adore nana as well very much but jieun only joined this club because she wanted me back. it's her small little plan." i explained and in their eyes i could see the believed me. it was such a relief.
"so you're saying that you and nana broke a rule?" harvey creased his eyebrows.
i nervously nodded and gulped a lump down my throat, my fingers shaking and my body.
"the rule is, to not fall in love with a DNYL member... it's strictly forbidden. and both of you were just hiding all of this?" mark asked which made me nod and felt so ashamed.
"yes, we broke a rule and we couldn't control ourselves."
mark eyed haechan, harvey eyed mirae and the leaders both sighed. "we-"
"guys?" someone interjected. we all turned our head around and saw jieun, smiling nervously while playing with her bag straps.
i scrunched my nose, giving her a disgust face while i looked at her from head to toe. "you had the audacity to come here?" i spoke sharply.
"jeno it's okay-" i cut off harvey.
"i'm leaving." i grumbled, i took my bag and immediately stormed away from the table.
"jeno-yah wait!" i could hear jieun run after me.
