IN LONDON, Phoebe Adams is sitting at her desk with papers scattered everywhere. It's dark and cloudy outside, and rain is pattering against the window. In a way, it's a foreshadowing of what's to come. But, she's stressed as she's learning her daughter is growing close with the infamous Santino D'Antonio. Rumors are running rampant surrounding them, and she hates every word she hears. From dancing together at a gala, to her spending time alone at his flat. Phoebe doesn't want her daughter anywhere near him or any of the Camorra; she feels a bubbling irate feeling in her chest at her father-in-law for taking Pippa with him.

Phoebe isn't known for her sanity, she's one of the least favored Continental managers especially since her husband had been so loved. Most people say she's crazy and can't think rationally; that she forces her daughter to become recluse and run from the lifestyle. Phoebe doesn't realize she's the reason Pippa is struggling with herself, identity, and family. Or at least that's what people think.

The door to her study is opened with a loud creak and in comes a man around her age. He has slick black hair, a stern face, and in a three piece suit. It's clear he's a member of the British firms- but he's also Jack Damien's father.

He strides over to Phoebe, his dress shoes echoing on the wooden floors.

"Jack told me about Pippa and Santino," he always gets right to the point, "figured I'd stop by and see how you're fairing."

"My heart.. it's shattering. I've tried to protect her! And here she is fraternizing with that Italian man..." she says over-dramatically, as usual. It's like everything is in inconvenience to her and makes her panic. It's appalling to most how she keeps this manager job.

"Then Phoebe, you shouldn't have let George take her. You are her mother." there's a lone chair sitting in front of her desk, but Mr. Damien drags it over so he can sit besides Phoebe.

"But she got so excited to go with Nana. What sort of mother would I be if I didn't let her go on holiday with her friend." Phoebe says with distress in her voice. Her face is buried in her hands, her hair beginning to grow tangled from the constant frustrated acts of running her fingers through it.

"Could have sent them somewhere else."

"And argue with George?" she asks incredulously, "he thinks I should be grateful to have taken over after my husband."

"He's just mad you don't like to follow his orders."

"Why should I? I answer to the High Table! But we have to do something about this stupid alliance." Phoebe's words are like venom. She's speaking with pure hatred as she slams her hands down on her desk. Standing up, she begins to pace the room with steam practically blowing from her ears, "I do not want my daughter fooling around with Santino D'Antonio! He's much older too!"

"This is Pippa we're talking about though," Mr. Damien chuckles watching her. He doesn't want Phoebe getting too worked up- "might I remind you she's rather cautious about things... she's probably just being polite."
