I could feel just how angry Mason was at me. He was absolutely livid and I could feel it through the bond. He didn't really have reason to be mad at me for saying that I don't trust him, because frankly it's the truth, I barely know him. A mate bond does not mean instant trust, it's just undeniable attraction and a strong need for the other person, but the more intimate parts of a relationship have to be developed. Trust is a very precious and delicate thing and it has to be worked on.
Obviously, I know how important his pack for him and I know that if he didn't trust this vampire, he wouldn't even entertain the thought of allowing this person to exist near his pack, much less have them be a member. Vampires were just a very sensitive topic for me, I couldn't see them being civil. Arthur was part werewolf, which would give him ties and loyalty to the pack, but he was also part vampire. Who's to tell that there is no loyalty to the other side? Frankly, having another person trust him wasn't good enough for me, even if that person was my mate.
I go upstairs and change into workout leggins and a sport bra. I head down to the gym. Training always eased my mind and helped me relax .I do a full workout which takes me about an hour and a half. As I take a few sips of waters I can still feel just how angry my mate is at me. I decide to go speak to him and go up the stairs to his office. I know he's in there, his smell is just so intoxicating. I could probably smell him from a mile away.
I knock twice on the closed door of his office and wait for his response.
"Come in." I hear his delicious voice speak through the door. I open the door and head inside the office.
I stand close to the door and rapidly take in my surroundings. The office was big. His desk was in the middle and there were two chairs right across from his. A couch and some file cabinets. I then redirect my eyes at my mate. How can a human being just be so perfect?
He was sitting back on his reclining chair, his long, fit legs perched on the desk and crossed at the ankles. He was biting the end of pen and looking at some papers on his laps, the glasses on again. He finished whatever it was he was reading and looked up at me.
"Yes?" He urged me to carry on with what it was I had to say.
"You're mad at me." I didn't ask, it was more of a statement.
"I just don't understand why you can't trust me on Arthur, why you don' trust me at all. I'm your mate. It's not like I would do anything to hurt you." He finished with an exasperated sigh.
"Trust is earned Mason. I know you wouldn't purposely hurt me, but I don't know you well enough to determine if I can trust your judgement of people, especially that... guy." I answer.
He apparently did not appreciate this comment very much. His face got more serious and more rigid, if that was even possible.
"I am the alpha of the most powerful pack in the word, and you think my judgement might be flawed? Do you think I just let anybody waltz into my pack? Is that what you think of me? If I let Arthur into my pack you can be damn sure I trust him. Gianna, I am appalled that you think I'm running some type of circus over here." His voice was rough, which made his French accent just that more thick.
"I guess so, I'm just not that trusting. It's not in my system. It will take some time for me to trust you blindly. I was trained to not even trust my shadow..." I stopped for a second. "I'm willing to try, though." As I finish, I lock eyes with him. Those grey orbs are so full of mystery. I could not tell what was going through his head. There was a brief moment of silence before Mason spoke again.
"I can work with that." He finally said while still keeping my gaze.
"Good." I couldn't take my eyes off his. Looking into his eyes is like falling head first into an abyss, and endless abyss. It made my body feel all types of ways, it made my stomach churn. Those eyes would haunt me until the day I die. They were just pure perfection.
Finally, after a couple minutes, we broke eye contact.
"I'm gonna take a shower." I stated turning around and opening the door to exit his office.
"Want me to join?" I hear his voice from behind me, so sheepish.
"Wouldn't you just love that?" I answer his question with one of my own.
"I would." He answers crudely. His voice sounded devious and seductive. Oh, God!
"You should probably keep working, Alpha." I finalize and exit, closing the door behind me. I let out a big sigh, this guy was gonna be the death of me.
My shower was definitely going to be a cold one.

That night, I lay in Mason's bed using my laptop, trying to learn more about France, and continuing to try and learn French. At about 11, Mason walked in and headed toward the adjoining bathroom. I can hear the shower start, then focus back on what I'm doing.
A while later he comes out only wearing a towel which hung low on his hips. There were still water droplets dripping of his fine eight pack, leading to the most delicious v. My eyes wonder as low as they can see and I resent the towel for blocking my view of all that he is. His hair was wet and a couple strands stuck to his forehead. He was pure perfection and he was totally doing this on purpose. Mason cleared his throat.
"Stop eye-fucking me, unless you plan on following through. " His seducing voice broke me away from the spell he had on me. What a tempting offer...
"I want the first time we have sex to not just be about sex, Mason." I countered. He just pouted at me, with his full, plump lips. He then headed towards the walk in closet and came out wearing sweats. still showing of his sculpted abdomen.
"Padre amado.." I whispered then managed to take my eyes away from his body.
If Mason heard me, he ignored my comment completely as he settled on the couch.
"I'm taking you out on a date tomorrow." He declared.
I took a couple second as I composed myself, "Ok."
After that I put my laptop away and we both went to bed.
