After a very long flight we finally arrived at France. A pack warrior had brought Mason's car, which happened to be a Lykan Hypersport, and the two of us got in; as where, the rest of the pack each took their own form of transportation to the pack's land. As Mason started driving, I decided to ask him some questions about his packs, just to get an idea of what I was getting myself into.

"So how big is your pack?" I asked first, cutting through the silence that enveloped us.

"We have approximately 1,700 members." The pack was incredibly big, my own pack had about 1,000 members and was considered one of the biggest packs. I could see why The European Shadow was the biggest pack in existence.

"That's a lot of people." I remarked, a bit overwhelmed. So many members and here I was, heading head first.

"Yeah, but you won't have to meet them for a while." Assured Mason. That gave me some peace of mind.

"How many are warriors?" I asked, continuing my investigation.

"We have 735 warriors, give or take." Wow, many of the pack members were warriors.

"Do you interact with the humans?" I asked this because there were packs that preferred to just keep to themselves. They would form their own werewolf schools so kids didn't have to attend public ones and would even develop their own towns, with shops and everything they might need and kept their commerce local.

"Yes, we have control over the local public institutions, and there are humans allowed to attend. We find that being surrounded by humans helps pups learn to control their more... primitive urges. Everyone is allowed to go into town and interact with the humans as longs as they are discreet about out existence. " He explained patiently. I have always thought that sending kids to public school was the way to go, it did teach them how to control their more violent side. Case in point, myself. I did not attend any type of school at all and, instead, had a private tutor and look at how I turned out.

"Did you attend high school?" I was curious and wanted to know more about Mason and what made him, well him.

"I did. But I attended a type of boarding school for werewolves of high ranking. After I graduated, I had more intensive combat training, to finish perfecting my abilities. Did you?" Mason was focused on the road ahead of him while he spoke. He had one arm on the wheel and looked incredibly sexy.

"No, I didn't. I had private tutors all my life, my brother and I were isolated so we could focus on training." I answered.

"How old are you?" He asked.

"I'm 19, you?" I asked back.

"I'm 22." He answered. His age let me know that he had not been an alpha for very long, since alphas take the positio once they turn 21.

We turned off the highway we were on, onto a smaller, rockier path, which we followed for a while. As we got deeper into the forest I could swear the trees got greener. It was absolutely stunning.

Soon enough we got to the pack village, in the middle stood a huge pack house, bigger than the one back home. I though that was where we were headed, but Mason drove past it to the most beautiful three story house. The house was enormous and could probably fit a small pack.

Mason parked in front of the house and we exited the car. I followed him inside the house. The house was massive. As soon as you entered you were greeted by a pair of arced stairs leading up to the second floor. The decoration was very modern. We left my bags by the stairs while Mason gave me tour of the first floor, which held: the kitchen, living room, dinning room, movie room and a couple bath rooms. In the basement, he had a fully equipped private gym. It had an attached room to the left that looked to be for hand on hand battle practice, to the right there was a weaponry room, which I saw was highly secured, with a code lock.

On the second floor, there was a library, Mason's office, and a conference room. There were also a couple guest bedrooms and what appeared to be an empty room. The third floor was just composed of Mason's master bedroom. It was the biggest room I had ever seen. There was a king size bed, a sitting area, and some other furniture. There was also an adjoined closet and bathroom.

Once I finished awing over the room, I noticed my baggage had been brought upstairs. Mason probably ordered someone to do it over mind-link while he was giving me the tour.

"Bold of you to assume we're sleeping together." I stated.

"I was planning on taking the couch, looks like you're the one that has other plans." He smirked as he responded.

"Hmm, the couch could do you good." I stated, looking deep into his eyes. Oh, his eyes! The most beautiful shade of grey, I could get lost in them forever, especially when he looked at me with all that mischief in them.

"How about I show you the surrounding forest. That way you'll know where you can go for a run." Mason suggested and I agreed.

We headed down stair and out the patio doors. Outside there was an outdoor sitting area barbeque and a pool. It wall rounded by a gate. We went outside and he showed me the gate code. Well, that's very trusting of him. I guess he just didn't want to have to come and open it whenever I felt like going for a run.

Outside was a beautiful forest area, that looked like it went on for miles, it probably did.

"After about five miles is a clearing where the warriors train." Mason explained and I nodded.

We walked in silence for a couple minutes when, suddenly I smelt a vampire. I zoned in on the scent and started after it. I could hear Mason calling for me to stop, but I couldn't understand why. Surely, I had already proved to him I could take care of myself. I did not need him looking after me.

After about three minutes running I found the bloodsucker. It appeared to be a teenage boy with blonde hair and pale skin, red eyes. He was leaning against a tree, relaxed, drinking from a water bottle. I grabbed him by the neck and pressed him harder against the tree.

"What are you doing here?" I asked my tone menacing.

"I-I was just going for a run." He stuttered as he answered in a rushed tone. He was scared. Serves him right for stumbling into werewolf territory.

"Gianna, stop!" Mason growled. Wait, he was growling at me? What the hell?

I grabbed onto the vampire's neck tighter. There was no way I was going to be merciful. He's probably a spy.

"Arthur's part of our pack. He's half werewolf, half vampire." Mason explained.

"I don't trust any vampires." I countered. It's the truth, these were the creatures responsible for my mother's death. I was trained to hunt and kill them my whole life. They've tried to kill me more than once. They have all but declared war on my pack.

Mason put his hand over where mine was resting on Arthur's neck. The guy's eyes almost bulged out of his head. If he was scared before, he was petrified now. Because of the mate bond, my hold on his neck softened. My mate used this to pull my hand off his neck and turn me around to face him. I heard the vampire hurry away and scowled at Mason.

"You don't have to trust him, just trust me." Mason said in a low voice tat had my insides turning into mush. This mate bond was gonna be the end of me, it made me feel... weird and out of control.

"I don't, though." I exclaimed in a harsh voice, recovering. I got out of his hold and started towards his house.
