AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Yeah, the tittle and the cover need work, I know. Thanks for checking it out.
-----------~-----------~-----------~---------"Father, I can't do that. I have pack warriors to train." I hissed annoyed.
My father, Alpha Zachariah, wanted me to be in charge of dinner preparations. The European Shadow (the strongest pack in Europe and, debatable, of the world) was coming over to work on some peace treaties with our pack, The Latin Fang pack (the strongest pack in South America and, undebatable, of America as a whole).
Father sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "I understand that, Gianna; but, I need this dinner to be perfect... you know how important this treaty is. I don't need anyone screwing anything up and I only trust you."
"I'm a killer, not a maid." I say lowly. Taking a deep breath I add "But, I will make an exception just this once. I'll make sure everything is ready by six."
My pack had built a reputation. We are cold blooded killers, and some of the worst werewolves you could encounter. I, Gianna Kuchno, prided myself on knowing that I was the worst of them. I was known for being the most notorious female assassin in existence, only matched by Mason Grimaldi.
Alpha Grimaldi, alpha of The European Shadow pack, was known as the most fearsome killer to have ever been. I think he's been ranked above me just because he is a man, because I can really not imagine anyone more vicious than me.Unlike other packs, I was in charge of training the warriors instead of the Delta, even though I was the Alpha's daughter. The reason for this was quite simple: I was the best prepared. While growing up, I was secluded from all of the other children, I wasn't allowed to play or go to school. I was homeschooled, and I spent all of my free time training. Training to kill. Now I was 19, so I could focus completely on bettering myself and pushing my warriors to their breaking point... and then pushing them some more. It was necessary. In order to be the best pack, you've got to have the best members, and for that you have to train... hard.
I mind-linked Lucas, my brother. He was 20 and would become Alpha once he turned 21.
"Father needs me to take care of some things for the dinner this evening, could you finish training the warriors today?""Of course." Was my brother's stoic reply. My brother was one of the only people I trusted, besides my father. My mother had passed away when I was five years old because of a vampire attack. The blood sucker had drained her of all her blood as a sort of warning to the rest of the pack, as if saying "If we can kill your Luna, none of you are safe." I believe that is part of the reason my father made my brother and I train so hard, so we could protect ourselves. But, when all you have been taught since you are an infant is how to kill, you become ruthless.
My brother and I got along pretty well, I trusted him with my life and he trusted me with his, but we were serious people and we didn't really spent time bonding or did things other siblings did.
I walked down to the kitchen and greeted the woman who were there already finishing dinner. "Good afternoon, ladies."
"Good afternoon, Miss." They all replied in unison, bowing their heads as a sign of respect.
I glanced up at the clock: 4:27 p.m."Do you need any help?" I asked, trying to finish up as soon as possible. I still had to get ready for dinner and there wasn't that much time left.
"Everything is ready, if you could help us carry everything out it would be greatly appreciated."
I nodded my head and pick up some of the trays which had the food displayed in such an intricate way that it would be a shame to eat it and mess it up.By the time we were finished setting the table, it was already 5:02 p.m. I excused myself and climbed the stairs to my room which was located on the "Alpha's Floor". It was the building's seventh story and only my brother, my father and I inhibited here. My grandparents used to live here with us, but had decided a couple of years ago to get a house near the pack house, for privacy reasons.
Once in my room I headed to its conjoined bathroom and decided to take a shower, since it was faster than a bath. I washed my long black hair and shaved my legs, as I was probably going to wear a dress.
After I was finished, I exited my bathroom and walked over to my walk-in closet. There I rummaged through my clothes until I found the dress I was looking for. I slipped on the little salmon dress which I matched with some nude pumps. It reached my mid thigh and was pretty tight. It hugged my body in all the right places making my body look amazing, if I do say so myself.
I walked over to my makeup table and applied some light make up. I fixed my pin straight hair into a high, elegant ponytail and looked in the mirror I was ready.I glanced up at the clock attached to the far left corner of my room. 5:59 p.m. Just in time, I thought to myself.
As I descended the stairs I could hear, thanks to my advanced werewolf hearing, light chatter coming from the dining room. That must mean the European Shadow pack has arrived. When I was on the third floor, the most intoxicating scent hit me. It was the most amazing mix of spice and earth, I could not get enough. I had to hold on tightly to the hand rail as I continued my journey down the stairs.
I walked over to the dining room entrance, the smell getting stronger with each step I took. I had a pretty good idea of what this meant, my mate was right through those doors. My wolf was extremely excited at the possibility of meeting her mate, whereas I was indifferent. It's no that I don't want a mate but I don't really feel like I need one. I don't deem it necessary. I was fine with having a mate but I was also fine without one.
I opened the tall mahogany doors and was looking straight at someone's chest. It looked like this person was going out just as I was going in. My wolf was screaming at me to look up, and I did. I locked eyes with the most beautiful pair of grey eyes, they looked so enticing, like they held all of the secrets of the world.
My father cleared his throat, bringing me out of my trance. I looked at him as he said the following words, which were bound to change my world.
"Alpha Grimaldi, meet my daughter Gianna Kuchno."
