I sat down in my usual seat and waited for the bell to first class to ring.  I started a conversation with one of my other best friends Heather.

“Why were you sad yesterday?”  She asked me.  I didn’t want to tell everyone my little secret so I played dumb with her.

“What are you talking?  I wasn’t sad yesterday,”  I told her with a fake questioning look.

“Yes you were.  You looked like you were going to cry.  Whats wrong with you?”  she asked.  Heather never misses things like this.  Some times it was good and some times it was just annoying.  This being one of those times.

“Well, you have to promise me you tell anyone, not even Nick,”  I told her in a hushed tone.  Nick is her boyfriend and one of my other friends.  She nodded signaling me to go on and keep talking.  “Well, you know how Kaden is moving, to Alabama,”  I asked and she nodded again.  “Well, I think I’m in love with him,”  I told her and she nodded in understanding.  I think she was about to say something when the bell rang.

I gathered my things said bye to Heather and was out the door and to my next class.  I got there and sat at my usual table with Beth so there were two more seats left.  Kaden and Blake walked in a few minutes later.  They both started walking faster when they saw me.  Kaden got eh seat next and across from Beth while Blake got the seat next to her and cross from me.  He didn’t seem to like that at all.  Almost half the class still wasn’t here when Mrs. Escajeda walked in being her usual chipper self.

“Good Morning,”  she said loudly in a sing song voice.

“No it’s not,”  I told her in that same tired tone of voice.

“Aww why is that?”  She asked slightly chuckling at me.

“Yeah, why isn’t it a good morning Jasey?  You get to hang out with me all day,”  Blake said stretching out the ‘all day’ part, that made me giggle once again.  I saw Kaden’s smile falter when he said that too.

“That’s true, but its still not a good morning for one reason and one reason only.  It’s morning and I’m awake,”  I told them.  Mrs. Escajeda laughed at me again.  I thought about my statement for a moment.  “That’s two reasons, isn’t it?”  I asked nonchalantly after realizing my mistake.  There was a chorus of ‘yeahs’ to answer my question.

“Oh well time to start the day, I guess,”  said Mrs. Escajeda after the bell had rang signaling the start of the day.  The rest of the period went by quickly after Blake introduced himself.  Career essentials was usually a class that I didn’t take a nap in.  Just before the bell rang Mrs. Escajeda asked every one if they were going to the homecoming game.  I was really excited for the home coming game because Stacia was coming over and then we were going to go the game together and then she was going to spend the night and then we are going to go to the homecoming dance together.  I got really excited and yelled out my plans as soon as she asked.  She once again laughed at my childishness and so did a few other people.

Blake gave me a questioning look and asked, “Who is Stacia?”

“Stacia is one of my bestest friends in the world.  She use’d to go to school here, but she got in to a fight with her cousin so her aunt kicked her out so she had to move back in with her mom, so now we barely get to see each other,” I explained taking a really long breath at the end.  He nodded in understanding.  The bell rang and we all filed out of the room.  I walked down the stairs and to my locker.

The rest of the day was kind of the same.  By time the final bell rag I was shaking with excitement.  I couldn’t wait to see Stacia.  I sat with Blake on the way home.  When the bus reached our stop we got off and said goodbyes.  I ran in to the house and asked my mom when were leaving to pick her up.  She told me we were leaving now because we also needed food.

I got my Ipod and turned it all the way on the drive to Stacia’s.  We went shopping first. because Stacia wasn’t picking up her phone so I didn’t know if she was there or not.  After we got out of the store my phone rang and it was Stacia.  She said that she was home now and that we should come get her.  We went over to her house and picked her up.  I was extremely giddy the entire way home.  I jumped out of the car when we arrived.

“When do you want to go the game?” I asked her.

“I don’t know, when do you want to go?”  she asked.

“I don’t know, you’re the guest when do you want to go?”  I told her.

“I don’t know, it was your idea to go,”  she mentioned.  I thought about for a moment.

“Why don’t eat first and then go to the game,” I suggested.  She nodded and my mom said that dinner was ready.  We got our food and ate quickly.  Stacia was really excited to go to the game to see every one.  We finished and my dad gave us a ride to the game.  There was only ten minutes left in the game.  I said bye to my dad and made our way down to the field.  The first person we saw was Devon.  We were both excited to see him, since he moved to Livermore Falls.  Stacia and Devon started there own conversation.  I started looking around to see who else was here when I spotted Blake talking to Zeke.  I told Stacia I would be right back and went over to him and hugged him from behind.

“Is this Jasey?”  he asked in a ‘knowing’ tone while turning around.  I smiled at him.

“Yes,” I told him.  I was cold and started shivering.  He gave me another hug to warm me up.  I pulled away when Stacia made her way over to us.

“Blake,”  I said getting his attention, seeing as he continued his conversation with Zeke.  He looked at me and I continued, “This is one of my bestest friends, Stacia.  Stacia this is my new next door neighbor, Blake.”

We all talked for awhile when Kaden came over with Devon.  I introduced Devon and Blake since he moved here after Devon moved.  I shivered again and then felt some ones arm around me warming me up instantly.  I turned to the person and hugged backing thinking it was Blake.

My phone rang.  I got it out of my pocket and looked at the message.  It said that my dad was here to get me.  I pulled away from the hug to thank Blake.  I looked up at them and saw it was Kaden, not Blake.  I felt my heart skip a beat again at the thought that Kaden hugged me again.  I told Stacia that we had to go and we said bye to every one.  I asked Blake if he needed a ride because we live next door to each other and he said he didn’t.  I gave them all hugs before leaving.  I smiled to myself when walking away.  I don’t know why, but I just felt happy.
