"Courtney you better stop beating around the bush and tell us what happened!" Geia shouted at me while throwing her couch pillow at me.
I rolled my eyes then directed my attention towards the movie that was playing. It's been about two weeks since I started working with Bryson, and I've already seen some changes within myself. I felt like a new person that could conquer anything that came my way and I was more confident. After that night we kissed again, he came up to my apartment and we watched old tv shows while getting to know each other more. I explained what happened to my friends several times but they still wouldn't believe me.
"Guys I told you. We did not sleep together and I don't plan on it anytime soon." I firmly stated while eating some more popcorn.
Geia and Isabel gave each other that side-eye glance like they were telepathically communicating and agreeing with one another. I admit that I wanted to go there with Bryse, but we agreed to be friends for now so I could continue to grow and heal.
"Have you guys heard from Yvette recently?" Isabel asked while turning down the movie and facing us.
"No, I haven't heard anything from her since she announced that she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago." I suspiciously said.
This was very out of the ordinary for Yvette. She was usually very sociable and she hung out with us once a week. Her recent behavior was out of the ordinary, and I couldn't help but ponder where she's been all this time.
"Maybe she's planning for the baby or she's catching Tyler cheating with their neighbor again," Geia said with a smirk present on her face.
Now it was my turn to throw a pillow at her because I didn't find that funny at all. Geia shrugged then turned the movie back up. It was a late Friday night so we decided to stay inside and relax. Although we loved going to social events, tonight just didn't feel like a party night.
"So guys for the party next week if she doesn't show up can Jay come in her spot?" Geia innocently asked.
I shook my head no then shot her a dirty look. Ever since I introduced Yvette to the group Geia made it clear that she had a strong dislike for her. I'm also sure that Yvette probably noticed the strong tension as well.
"I'm nosey and I'm curious to see what she's been doing without us. Guys I'd say let's go on an adventure to her place." Isabel excitedly said while bouncing on Geia's couch.
Geia got up and pushed Isabel off while smoothing out her cushions again. I chuckled then went to the closet so I could put my shoes and cardigan on. Yvette lived only ten minutes away from Geia so we would get there fairly quickly. After we all got dressed and gathered our belongings, Geia locked up as we headed to the parking garage and piled into her car.
The drive was actually less than ten minutes due to the light traffic. When we pulled up to Yvette's townhouse we saw that her lights were still on and her car was parked in the driveway. I also saw a familiar car parked along the street, but I knew that there couldn't be any possibility that he was here.
We parked along the street, then we ran into the darkness towards her house. I admit that I felt like some undercover spy, but this also felt exhilarating. We quietly crept along her driveway until we reached the front of the house. We peered through the large windows by the front door, and we surprisingly didn't see her in the front room or in the kitchen. We decided to go around to the other side of the house and look into her office window.
I realized that we could've just rung the doorbell like mature adults, but it's not every day that you get the opportunity to be adventurous. The lights in her office were dimmed lowly, but we could see inside if we went up close.
