This chapter with full confidence I say that in some shape or form that all authors have used the "time skip" in their books. Some authors just abuse it to get to the "juicy" parts. Here's an example.
Tommy and I met last night at a party. My friends told me to stay away from him because he's not good for me, but I don't care.
We ended up sleeping together.
~2 years later~
The crying baby woke me up, out of my sleep. You guessed it! I was pregnant and Tommy is the dad. But I never told him I was pregnant.Etc etc
I'm just like wow 😮 that was fast 😂
We missed a whole bunch of character development and plot line because you wanted to jump to the good parts. That's when I start scimming or either leave the book because I don't want to re read basically the same story over and over again.
