Tony was late. Well, Tony was always late but this time it was just ridiculous. Steve sighed as he checked his watch for forth time, the meeting was supposed to start twenty minuets ago. "Right Tony will have to catch-up when he shows up." He said, finally tired of waiting for the inventor. "If he turns up." Clint put in, Steve frowned, Tony had always turned up no matter how late. Two hours later Tony had yet to make an appearance, Steve had tried asking FRIDAY for his whereabouts but she simply said that "I can not give you that information Captain Rogers." Steve checked his watch for the fourth time in half an hour, they only had ten minutes left of the meeting and it looked like Tony was a no show. "Does anybody have any idea where Tony is?" Steve asked the group, "I called him but it when straight to voicemail." Bruce said, Natasha simply shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe," Clint said, "he's hungover." Steve frowned, Tony wouldn't be that irresponsible right? "How about we find out?" Clint said, having seen Steve's facial expression. "Well we are pretty much done." Steve said, "cool let's go." Clint said, jumping up from his seat leaving the others to follow. Stood in the elevator heading to the private floor Steve began to wonder what was going on with Tony. He'd heard story's of Tony's past binge drinking and how he had often been seen drunk or hungover, but he didn't think Tony would as irresponsible as to drink him self sick the night before an important meeting. Reaching the private floor, the team stepped out of the elevator and were greeted by silence. Moving further into the main living room, looking for any sign of the billionaire, the team couldn't find anything except for an empty coffee mug. That was until they hear the sound of someone retching. Clint turned to Steve with a smug look, "Maybe he's ill." Steve said, trying to find any other reason Tony would be throwing up other than a hangover. "If Stark was sick we'd know about it." Clint replied, and although Steve didn't want to, he agreed with Clint, if Tony was ill he would make sure that the entirety of america knew. Together they moved towards the hall, following the sound until they came to a stop out side the bathroom, they looked at each other none of them quite sure what to do. Clint apparently decided that kicking the door in was the correct course of action. They were not prepared for the scene behind the door. Tony was in the bathroom but it wasn't him throwing up, instead in was a boy who looked about fourteen. The boy had curly brown hair that was damp with sweat, doe eyes that were gazed over with fever and pale skin that was covered with a sheen a sweat, shivers racked his body as he finished coughing. Tony was seated next to the boy, rubbing gentle circles on his back, once the boy was done he collapsed into to Tony a few choked sobs escaping. Tony wrapped his arms around the boy, running a hand through his matted curls, "shush, you gotta calm down kiddo your only going to make it worse." he said, keeping his voice low. "It hurts!" the boy sobbed, curling further into Tony's chest, "I know bambino, I know." Tony replied, pressing a kiss to the boys head. Neither of the two noticed the rest of the avengers until Clint cleared his thought. Tony's head whipped up at the noise, "Shit." he said under his breath when he noticed his team in the door way, the boy was to out of it to notice them, "Peter I gotta go deal with this OK? I'll be back soon" Tony said, shifting the teen of his chest. The boy, Peter apparently, whined a little when Tony left but other wise seemed oblivious to what was going on as Tony lead them from the room. Once out of the room the questions began, "what the hell is going on?!"
"Who is that?"
"Did you kidnap a child?"
"Shut up!" Tony exclaimed, "That is my son, Peter, who as you can see is very ill." This made the team shut up fast, "You have a kid?" Natasha asked. "Yup." Tony replied. "How'd I miss that."
"I don't know how any of you missed him since he's been living in this tower longer than any of you." All of this was beginning to make Steve's head spin, all he could mange to say was, "You missed the meeting."
"Because that's what I care about," Tony said with pure sarcasm, "not the fact that my son has been throwing up since five this morning or the high fever he has, but a meeting!" Steve was a little taken aback by Tony's outburst, he opened his mouth but was cut of by Tony, "Look right now I don't care what you have to say, you can ask questions later but right now my kid needs me." Steve was frozen in place as Tony spoke, only braking to wince when the sound of Peter vomiting reach them. Hearing this Tony turned back down the hall and turned into the bathroom once more, shutting the door indicating that they were not welcome at that moment. The avengers stood frozen to their places, shocked that Tony had a child and how much he cared for the boy.
