The day had been going great so far for Peter, he'd gotten full marks on his chemistry test, it had been his favourite pizza for lunch and, best of all, Flash had been ill and therefore unable to bother him. So yeah, it had been a good day, Peter thought to him self as he exited the school. scanning the crowds, he soon found the sleek, black car he had been looking for. Shouting a quick farewell over his shoulder to Ned, Peter jogged over to the car, sliding into the back seat. "Hey Happy." he greeted the driver, "your in a good mood today kid." Happy replied, starting the engine and pulling out of the schools parking lot. "It's been a good day." Peter said, stretching out across the back seats as Happy hit the main street, speeding of towards the tower in the distance.
"Alright kid, we're here." Happy said, his voice snapping Peter out of the light sleep he had fallen into. Blinking rapidly, Peter clambered out of the car still slightly foggy with sleep. "Cheers Happy," he called of his shoulder, " see you tomorrow."
"Bye kid." Happy responded, pulling away to return the car to the garage as Peter turned towards the tower. Entering through the front door, Peter made a beeline for the elevator, once the mental doors shut FRIDAY's voice sounded through the small space, "Welcome home Peter, did you have a good day at school?"
"Yes thanks Friday." Peter replied.
"The normal floor I presume?"
"Yep." Peter said before falling into a comfortable silence while the elevator travelled to the very top of the building. The top floor of the tower was unusable quiet when Peter arrived, "Hey Fri," he called out to the AI, "where's my dad?"
"Sir is currently in a meeting but is almost finished and will be with you shortly." FRIDAY replied.
"Ok, thanks FRIDAY." Peter said, turning towards the main living area. Dumping his school bag on the couch, he made his way to the kitchen to find something to eat. When the fridge turned out to be almost empty, Peter turned his attention to the cupboards pushing packs of instant noodles and coffee out of the way. "Kid, what are you doing in here?!" Someone shouted behind him, causing Peter to shoot up from the floor, hitting his head on the cupboard as he did so. The fugitive avengers stood before him, all of them with an angry look in their eyes. To say Peter was shocked would be an understatement, he didn't know that they were even back in the country let alone the tower. "Ur..." was all Peter could manage to say, not sure if he should say and if they would believe him if he told them the truth. Probably not. "I asked you a question kid." Steve said, his cold glare fixed on Peter. Peter nervously glanced around for an escape, the door was a no go, they would catch him before he could get close, jumping out of the window would freak them out to much and climbing the ceiling would raise to many questions. He was trapped. Realising this, he backed away from the group until he hit the counter trying to put as much space between him and the ex-avengers. The team shared a look before advancing on him, each one fingering their weapons. "Please don't kill my son," a voice said, "I am fairly attached to him." Turning to face the speaker, Peter breathed a sigh of relief, his dad was back from his meeting. Tony crossed the room to Peter's side, throwing an arm around his shoulder subtly pulling the boy closer to his side. "Hold up, did you just say your son?!" Steve exclaimed.
"Your age finally catching up with you cap?" Tony joked, "yes my son. Who you looked like you were about to kill." The group looked a little guilty at the last sentence. "Well we just thought..." Sam piped up from behind Steve. "Yes I know what you thought," Tony said dragging out the word thought while rolling his eyes, "Peter has access to places you don't even know exist. Oh, and lets get one thing clear, you hurt my kid and I kill you." He finished. The team just nodded, surprised by how much Tony cared for the boy. Steve opened his mouth to say something before realising that Tony and Peter were no longer in front of him, "What, no introduction?" Sam called after the two retreating forms. "You've met before." Tony called back, Peter wondered how long it would take for it to click. The answer was 10 seconds. "Your kid's spider-man!" Someone shouted, Peter wasn't sure who. He turned to his dad, "This is going to be a mess." He said.
"Meh," Tony relied, "I'll deal with it tomorrow."
