I rested my head against the back of my chair, staring at the show on the TV, bored. I honestly had no idea what to do here. In New York, I would've gone out, ate and gone to work and then after, go and have drinks with my co-workers once in a while. Work. Maybe I could find a job here. Would anyone hire me? Most people were pretty friendly here. I've only been here for about two weeks and I've already had most of the town visit me. Joy. I thought bitterly. But the over friendliness bugged me honestly.

No one was that friendly without wanting something.

My thought trailed back to the job idea. Maybe that would help me feel less... bored. I stood up and reached for my keys, pushing them into my pocket before jogging out to my car, looking up to the sky and sighing. Looks like rain. I got in and drove to town. I slowly pulled into the parking lot of The New Moon. I am not going to work here. One reason why. Athanasios was always here. I got out of my car and slammed the door shut before walking in, groaning as streak of lightning flew across the sky and then the boom of thunder. I winced and shut the bar door as quietly as I could, noticing that the bar wasn't as full. There was only four other people in here. I moved to the front of the counter to see... Of fucking course. My favorite dipshit of the day. I let out a groan before sitting in one of the stools.

"Lookie who's here." A smirk covered the man's lips as he leaned against the bar. Athanasios was a very attractive man and it terrified me.

"You work here?" I groaned and raised my eyebrow. Athanasios nodded slowly before straightening up to his 6'5" height.

"I'm actually filling in for Joann," Athanasios muttered. "She called me when I was going to go to a meeting, freaking out because she didn't have anyone to cover for her. Blah blah blah." He groaned and placed a menu in front of me. I pushed the menu away and shook my head.

"I'm not here to eat." I glared at him. Athanasios raised a brow before rolling his eyes.

"Here to look at me then, darling?" I frowned at the name before glaring at him.

"You only annoy me when you're breathing." I grumbled before getting to stand up. Athanasios rolled his eyes as if he was bothered by my sarcasm but I could see his body tense.

"You know, you could be nicer." Athanasios growled before placing a glass of water in front of me.

"Remember when I asked for your opinion? Me neither." I snapped before looking down at my fingers. I watched as a shadow loomed over me and I looked up to see Athanasios right in front of me. Extremely close. I could feel his warm minty breath against my face.

"What are you doing here then?" Athanasios whispered huskily. Wait- What? Why did his voice suddenly- I frowned at him, my eyes darting from his lips to his face before I leaned back and picked at my cuticles.

"Do you where a job opening could be?" I asked, suddenly embarrassed that I was actually asking him for a favor. I heard him lean back before he leaned forward.

"Oh?" Athanasios asked and hummed. "Well.. I don't think anyone is hiring right now.." He started. I felt my face drop before I looked down and nodded.

"Oh, that's okay." I muttered and stood up, ready to leave and nodded.

"Noah," Athanasios voice made me stop. I hated when he did that. I thought. His voice was filled with so much authority. "I can give you a job though." What?

"What?" I asked shocked. Athanasios shrugged and looked at me, his face confused as well, like why did he say that.

"If you want to take it, I mean. It wouldn't be every day but it would give you at least something to do," he said as he leaned against the wall. "I have a pretty big house, multiple actually on my property, and there's always people over." Athanasios explained. I nodded slowly. "And so... I wouldn't mind have an assistant. My friend Cal usually helps me but his brother's wife is pregnant so he's been trying to help calm him down." He started to ramble as if he was embarrassed. Muwahahah. Imagine a big tough guy like him embarrassed.
