Waking up to an empty bed, Pep yawned while wondering where Tash could've went. There was a tv in the room so the one in the living room was hardly used and usually Tash would fall asleep with Pep whenever she fell asleep during the day. Pep wasn't concerned because she could've been in the bathroom or the kitchen, she wasn't tied to her side even though she wouldn't mind that. Pep had a lot of things on her mind and even though she found the courage to open up about the hardest thing that had been bothering her for the longest while, she had current matters that were weighing heavy on her mind.
Sometimes, Pep felt afraid. She feared that her position in this life would bring her an early death and with Tash by her side that meant an early death for her as well, not only did she not want to die early but she didn't want Tash to die because of this. Tash had many opportunities to leave but she hadn't and it made Pep wonder about her headspace. Tash would randomly hiss her teeth and say that she was tired of life or post suicidal and depressing photos, Pep wasn't sure if she was the reason for that behavior and she's wanted to confront it for awhile but she didn't know how to. Pep knew Tash had self harm scars, the ones she noticed might have faded but they were still painfully noticeable.
Pep finally moved from her position on the bed to venture to the kitchen for food, her stomach was growling. Once she turned to take the last flight of steps, Pep finally acknowledged that there was no lingering food smell in the house and there was no music playing either, Tash always had music playing while she was in the kitchen; Pep was now worried.
"Tasheka?" Pep called out once she got to the last step.
There was only one other place that Tash could be hidden away and it was in the throne room either playing games or smoking her lungs bad. Pep's feet guided her towards the door to the throne room without a second thought. As soon as the door opened the metallic music filtered out and Pep started to fret, now remembering that she had left Rayuga in the cage.
"Fuck!" Pep hissed and quickly shuffled down the steps.
What she saw in front of her would've turned her on some other day in some other situation but seeing Tash standing over Rayuga's body with a gun in her hand made Pep's heart drop to her feet. She quickly ran over to Tash attempting to take the gun from her.
"Step back!" Tash shouted after Pep, she had managed to prevent her from snatching the gun away. "I said to step the fuck back." Tash hissed.
"What the fuck are you doing! What the fuck did you do!?" Pep's voice was shaking.
Pep looked down at Rayuga and felt sick to her stomach, she didn't intend for this to be her faith and now things would surely be different. Looking back up at Tash, Pep rose her head to find the gun pointed at her.
"So you're sorry for her, huh? Why weren't you fucking sorry for me?" Tash's deranged feeling was still coursing through her veins.
"I'm not, babe. Put the gun down." Pep pleaded.
"I'll put the gun down when I fucking want to! She loves you!" Tash pointed the gun towards Rayuga. "She needed to learn."
"Learn what!? Learn what, Tasheka?" Pep was shaken up, she was still in shock.
"Do you remember when you locked me in this same cage? When you tied me up naked and whipped me? Injected me with cocaine and stabbed me? Do you remember how you made me fall face first onto the tiled floor and split my head in two?" Tash screamed on top of her voice.
Pep made slow steps towards Tash watching the gun, she was scared out of her wits because she didn't know what was currently running through Tash's mind and what she just expressed didn't put Pep on her good side.
"She wanted to be with you, so I taught her how to tolerate your evil side." Tash smiled. "She didn't take it too well," Tash laughed while looking down onto Rayuga's body.
"What have you done?" Pep stood still, fear and shock evident in her eyes and posture.
"What the fuck have you done? She's a fucking whore! A prostitute!" The words slipped from Tash's mouth without a second thought.
"You were once the same thing." Pep whispered.
Tash didn't care, she was on a high that felt too good to be true. As soon as the last word felt Pep's lips the gun went off, Tash fired three shots after Pep with eyes wide open. She watched as Pep fell to the floor on her knees with tears streaming down her face.
"The next one won't miss." Tash threatened.
"Do you love her, Pep?" Tash asked with her own tears streaming down her face.
"No!" Pep screamed out.
"You're fucking lying! I know that you love her!" Tash screamed right back at her.
The evidence was all there, the messages and the times they've met up. The four of them would have sex together and it kept changing, Pep would focus more on Rayuga than she focused on Melody or Tash. Tash's jealousy was formed off assumptions but it felt valid to her.
"I don't love her." Pep said softly while wiping her tears away.
"Why?"
"I just found it easy to open up to her." Pep lifted her head so that she could look up at Tash.
"But you found it so hard to open up to me even though we sleep in the same bed, live in the same house, share everything, you told me that you loved me." Tash was getting more confused as the seconds passed by.
"We never had sex, I promise." Pep felt weak, she felt vulnerable and it was bringing up past memories that she desperately tries to forget.
"You don't love me like you say you do and I know you don't want me the way that I want you." Tash started crying, her cheeks burnt from her lips being pulled back into a frown and her eyes burnt.
Pep took the opportunity to disarm her, pulling her into her chest while tucking the gun into her boxers. Tash's hands hung freely at her side while she allowed Pep to comfort her, she was tired of this; she was tired of hurting. She wanted to hurt Pep for every pain and heartache that she caused her, she wanted them both to suffer but at what expense? She had to think smartly and she knew just the way to start.
"She's not dead" Tash had finally calmed down. "She's just knocked out cold."
She pulled away from Pep and wiped the tears from her cheeks, "I'm going out to finish adding the final touches for your birthday party, don't wait up." Tash walked away and left the room without a second glance.
Tash mindlessly climbed the steps, stripped and took a hot shower. She got dressed in denim shorts, white short sleeve button down and her brown Clark's topping it off with gold jewelry. Close to thirty minutes had passed and she hasn't seen Pep which meant she was still downstairs tending to Rayuga and this infuriated Tash. Pep had taught Tash to drive but she hasn't gotten her license as yet but she still took the car keys and left the house slamming the front door. Meanwhile, Rayuga's head rested in Pep's lap. She was glad to hear that Yuga wasn't dead but she wasn't happy about everything else that came to the light. Her skin was filled with whip marks and wails, and she also had dried blood all over her face and body.
"I'm sorry." Pep sighed.
She didn't prefer Rayuga over Tash, she loved Tash with everything in her and knew that they would get over this in due time. Pep was soft with Rayuga because of Tash, she brought out a side of her that she didn't know existed; the compassionate and loving Pep, she just wished that she could've shown this side to Tash instead of her demons. Pep sat with her back rested against the cage, waiting for Rayuga to wake up.
Walking into the chemical store, Tash repeated the words in her head. "Hey Ben! No, I'm not picking up the regular today but here's what I need."
Tash smiled as she recited the ingredients she needed for her plan, with the right measurements she would be able to get sodium cyanide.
