"Put him girl pon a bus." Tash looked over at Ray with a serious expression on her face, "the ductor a feel her up."
"So whapm to the driver?" Ray cocked her head to the side while she asked.
"Him feel har FUS!" Tash sung out.
The two stood in the kitchen singing along to Vybz Kartel while baking. Tash decided she wanted weed brownies and Ray agreed to make them for her. Currently, Pep was cooped up in her office listening to soothing sounds and doing paperwork but Tash knew that she'd also be doing lines as well- Tash wanted her to stop but she didn't know how to approach it. Ray bobbed her head to the song while mixing the ingredients together for a vegan, gluten free brownie.
"How was your ex? What kind of person was she?" Tash paused the music.
"Well," Ray took a deep breath, "she was the very opposite of me but we met in the middle. She loved trivial things, she was obsessive yet still she didn't hesitate to let certain things go- like me."
"Uhhhh..." Tash was speechless, "I wasn't expecting that." She nervously chuckled.
"It's okay. For the longest while I thought I'd be over her but I wasn't ready as yet, hoping some asshole would break her heart and she would finally see what she had with me and come running back but she didn't, she just ran through them and moved on just like she did with me. It hurts to know that you aren't as important and as special as you thought you were. Thinking, how could someone love you but break your heart at the same time, how could they beam you up today but let you down tomorrow." Ray let out a deep sigh before smiling up at Tash who had quivering lips and watery eyes.
"Man, I just hope I don't lose Pep." Tash blew a short breath out.
Laughing, Ray said "well, I don't think you have to worry about that."
"I don't want to lose you either." Tash wrapped her fingers around Ray's arm.
"Don't worry about that either." Ray poured the brownie mixture onto a flat baking pan then tapped it on the counter twice. "Just remember that you can't always have your cake and eat it too." Ray jutted her chin towards the pre-heated oven suggesting that Tash open it so she could slide the baking pan in.
Tash absentmindedly opened the oven door and watched as Ray slid the baking pan into the oven before she closed it, "I need a drink." Moving towards the fridge, Tash glimpsed Pep stepping down the last step.
"Do you want me to send someone after her?" Pep finally broke the silence in the kitchen.
"Who?" Ray spun around to face Pep.
"The Ice Queen." Pep did air quotes.
"You're one to talk." Tash rolled her eyes.
"No, why would you...oh my god...you think I'd want her dead?" Ray furrowed her eyebrows together.
"I would." Pep shrugged her shoulder.
Tash slowly stood up and turned around with the beer in her hand, she felt the cool breeze from the fridge and the shock that settled in when she registered what Pep said. Knowing that she was only trying to be funny Pep started laughing at the two women who had baffled expressions on their faces.
"I'm just joking, come on guys." Pep tried to reassure that.
"Ha, one hell of a comedian." Tash lightly chuckled as she closed the fridge.
"Mhm, the best." Ray agreed.
"Y'all so uptight." Pep scoffed.
"Maybe we just sober, right Ray?" Tash smacked her lips after taking a long drink of her flavored beer.
