Rudy and Penny arrived back to The Tabootie's house to tell Rudy's parents the good news.
"Hello kids. How did Career Day go?" asked Mrs. Tabootie.
"It went great." said Rudy.
"Rudy did Penny say yes to your big question?" whispered Mrs. Tabootie.
"Yes but we're waiting for Dad to come home." said Rudy.
Two hours later, Mr. Tabootie came home from working at his butcher shop and deli restaurant.
"Now that Dad is home. Penny and I have an announcement." said Rudy.
"We're getting married!" said the couple.
"I'm so happy for you Son." said Mr. Tabootie as he hugged Rudy.
Mrs. Tabootie admired Penny's engagement ring as it hit the light in the living room.
"What did your mom say when you told her you were getting married?" asked Mrs. Tabootie.
"I didn't tell her yet. I'm gonna call her right now." said Penny as she took out her cellphone.
"Hello." said Dr. Sanchez.
"Hey Mom!" said Penny.
"Hi Penny sweetheart. How are you?" asked Dr. Sanchez.
"I'm good. I have amazing news." said Penny.
"What is it?" asked Dr. Sanchez.
"Rudy and I are getting married!" shouted Penny.
"I'm so happy for you honey." said Dr. Sanchez.
"Tell Rudy that I said hi and welcome to the family." said Dr. Sanchez.
"I will mami. I'll talk to you later." said Penny.
"Bye sweetheart." said Dr. Sanchez.
"What did she say?" asked Rudy.
"She said she's happy for us and she also said welcome to the family." said Penny.
Rudy was relieved that Dr. Sanchez was supportive of the engagement.
"We'll call your Aunt Tilly and Cousin Sophie tomorrow and tell them the good news." said Mrs. Tabootie.
Mrs. Tabootie made ham and mashed potatoes to celebrate Rudy and Penny's engagement.
"To Rudy and Penny." said Mr. Tabootie as he raised his water glass.
"Here Here." said everyone.
