I woke up, still covered in blood. Glass covering my body. It was penetrating my skin deeper and deeper as I moved. I became weak but I had to get up. Because I saw my brothers take April. And from visiting them, I knew exactly where they had taken her. To the holding cells. I wonder if they were going to poison her. Give her the virus too. I just couldn't even imagine it. I had to save her. But what was wrong with me? I think I knew but I wasn't sure. I had theories. But there was no time to think. I had to hurry. I painfully ripped all of the glass out of skin. One by one. Each one more painful than the last. Blood trickled down my body where the glass had been. I wrapped cloth around my wounds. Trying to run through the blood. My body was so weak, I didn't even have enough strength to run. But I grabbed my staff anyway. I noticed everything was covered in blood. The floor. My feet. My hands. My staff. The wall. My body. Just everything. This was starting to frighten me. What was happening to me. And also my mask. It was drenched in blood. How was I going to save April if I was this weak? And my brothers. If they were drawn to my blood. I was surely a goner. But at the very least I had to try. I tried my best to regain my strength as I tried to run out the lair. Looking at the bloody footprints I left behind.

When I got to the sewers, I snuck in the same way I got out. Through the hole I made last time. I remember escaping my brothers. It was a horrible sight. Their claws, their teeth, their eyes. I was so afraid. But for April. I had to face my fear. I pulled myself up through the hole. Stooping into the dark area where I had before. I realized I was still bleeding. Not as much, but there was still blood. I hope they wouldn't be able to track me. I didn't have to wonder where April was long because I heard one of my brothers snarling teeth. They hissed and howled. They held her in the glass room where they once were. I saw her. Chained up to the wall. I couldn't see her eyes but by the looks of her. She looked to be normal. She didn't have the virus. Good, I wasn't too late. Or had I spoke to soon? What looked to be Mikey. That. Thing. Opened the door. The only reason I couldn't tell is because they had changed since the last time I saw them. When I passed out earlier in my lab. I must have been out a long time. Because my brothers. They were twice there size now. They were all at least seven feet tall. There arms came about to their waists. There claws were as sharp as daggers. Their feet. The same. Their shells. Formed into their exoskeleton and became more like quills. The color of their skin had changed too. They were all a dark black. They had glowing red eyes. And their teeth were still enormously sharp. I was so shocked. What had I gotten myself into? But for April. I must do this. If I die. At least I know, I'd die for her. But I couldn't die. I had to rescue her.

The only thing identifying what use to be my brothers was the color of their masks. Tied around their arms. That's how I knew it was Mikey going into the glass room with April. I peeked around the corner. To see what he was going to do. He snickered. He held the tip of one of his claws and said in a voice that was so horrifying that even hell's demons would be afraid. He said, "princess. My sweet princess. You only get one chance to be human. Make one mistake. And we will inject you with this virus. Turning you into one of us." She started to panic. I could see it in her eyes. Focus, Donnie, focus. What can I do to save her? I then had a brilliant idea. I snuck up into the air vent above where Mikey was. I heard everything he said to April. He said, " now tell us. Where is our brother. He is the final key to our complete mutation." I pondered on this for a second. What could he mean? April looked confused. Mikey said, "tell me human. Or this injection will be so deadly. You'll beg for death." I gasped. Shit. They heard me. I kicked out the air vent and jumped out. Mikey punched me through the glass. Causing glass to penetrate my skin once more. April said, "Donnie!" I ran towards her. Dodging my mutated brothers. I slashed the chains off of her. And I heard on of my brothers say in a demonic voice, "after them!" This was going to be even harder. Because this time I had April with me. I couldn't go through the vent. I had to run through the broken glass. Causing me to have blood gushing from my feet as I ran. Every footstep was a way to track me. But one thing I had that they didn't. I had stealth. They were big. They were clumsy. They could knock down anything in their path. I could hide in the tiniest of places. I ran down the hall. And jumped through the hole I used to get in.

They fell through the hole. Splashing in the sewer waters. In case they were still tracking me. I ran into one of the sewer tunnels and told April to be quiet. She listened. It was probably only a few seconds. But in panic, I felt like we were never going to get out if there. And if I moved. I might alert one of them. I stayed still. But April. She kicked a rock when a sat her down. I thought we were dead because raph was passing by when she did. He stopped. Stared into the tunnel. Shrugged his shoulders. And moved on. We were so relieved. I wiped all the blood off if my feet and carried April back to the lair.

When we returned to the lair, she yelled, "Donnie! Oh my god! What were those things!" I let her down. I said, "somehow my brothers mutated by a virus. And now they want to kill me! Or capture me, one." She said, " what virus?! What's going on?!" I sighed and gave her the explanation she requested long ago. After I told her. She just sat down on the couch. She couldn't believe what she just heard. She put her hand on my knee. I blushed. Then she kissed me. She then said, " Donnie. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get your brothers back to normal." I kissed her back. I held her close. I then said to her as I smiled, "April, do you want to be a team?" My heart sank at the fear of rejection. She blushed and smiled back and said, "yes, were a team now Donnie. Forever."
