Chapter Fourteen Betrayal Part Three

Dusk and I searched and searched for a place to unload all of my equipment so I could start to regain her self being. We finally found an abandoned warehouse. We snuck in through one of the broken windows. We checked to see if anybody was there. Not a soul to be found. It looked like an old science lab with a few rooms attached on to it. I said, "dusk. I know it doesn't look like much now. But this is our new home. And we'll fix it up. I promise. But my main priority is you." I put my hand on her head and she purred. I smiled. I set all of my stuff down and started to work.

I worked all night long. I almost passed out at least nineteen times. But dusk. Whoever she was. Wherever she came from. I would help her. She was my only companion. My whole world. I needed her as much as she needed me. She ended up falling asleep on me. Which was fine. She needed her sleep. It's been a long night. She was balled up in the corner. A big black ball of fur. I just wanted to go over there and pet her and take her messed up armor off. But I didn't want to disturb her. What really kept me focused was the note. After I made her voice come back. I would tell her.

It might have taken a while but by morning I finally finished it and I shaked dusk awake. She looked at me all sleepy eyed and a stretched her long legs. I said, "for now. All I have for you is a voice box so you can talk." She smiled at me. I made it into a wrist watch. I clamped it on and said, "say something." She said, "silver spirit." I smiled back at her. "It works! Yes, it works!" I was so exhausted. But I just couldn't sleep yet. Then I remembered the note. I crumbled it up in my hands. She said, "what's that?" Then I said, "I need to tell you what's on this note and explain what's gone on with my brothers before we can ever start a new life." She nodded.

I told her how karai had mutated my brother into monsters and how the shredder had killed my sensei right in front of my eyes. And how I vowed revenge on her. She just listened to me as I spoke. Taking in every word. I've needed somebody like her for so long. But here was the challenging part. The note. I said to her, "before I left my home. The only home I ever had. I wrote this."

Dear Leo and April,

Since you no longer need me. I will be saying my last goodbye. You probably won't even look for me. Because I know what you've done. You are now both on your own. Brother, you have disrespected me in the greatest way and April. I hope you get everything you deserve. Because you will no longer be apart of my life anymore

The silver spirit

Then I just spit it out. What I've been wanting to tell someone for so long. The story of what happened that night. The night I found out. That I had been betrayed. By my own brother. My own flesh and blood and the girl who I'd loved with all my heart.

One night I was worked on an antidote for Leo. So I could turn him back into my brother. The brother I knew. But I heard a strange noise. So I followed it. It sounded like Leo. But I wasn't sure. So I used stealth. It was coming from Leo's bedroom. His door was already cracked so I didn't even have to move the door. But when I looked through the crack of the door. I wish I never would have. They were cuddled up next to each other. He was making her scream. He made her do everything. Everything against me. And she did it willingly. I saw her jump on him. It horrified me. They thought I was asleep. They thought I wouldn't find out. But they were wrong. They should have never done this to me. They created a monster.

Dusk just started at me. With a mixture of hatred and depression. She said, "one day. One day, we will destroy them both. But right now." The she put her paw on my hand. "We must stay together." Then she suggested something I would have never thought of. To avenge my father. I had to be more intelligible than my brother. More intelligible than the shredder. We had to join the foot. Convince the shredder we were on his side. And kill him. And once karai came to his rescue. She would know what is like. To see your father die. Right before your very eyes.
