I SAT AT THE CONFERENCE TABLE, my mind off on another planet. The boys talked fervently around me, but I paid no mind to the topic of conversation. I was too wrapped up in my own troubles to pay attention to anyone or anything else. A few days had passed since Tae asked to come over to my apartment.

I paced the length of my living room, nervously biting at my nails. I quickly caught myself and dropped my arm to my side, choosing to bite my bottom lip instead. Taehyung had sent me that message more than twenty minutes ago now. I'd replied, letting him know that it was fine, but I hadn't heard a single word from him since.
Salem meowed and rubbed at the back of my legs. I sighed softly to myself and dropped into a crouching position. "That obvious, huh?" I scratched behind his ears and he threw his head back, as if urging me to continue. This made me smile. "I don't know why I'm so nervous. It's just Taehyung."
But, that was the thing. It was Taehyung. I was buzzing with more of an eager anticipation, than nerves themselves. It was the waiting that was killing me. I just wanted to hear whatever he had to say. You couldn't keep me in suspense like this.
Salem strutted past me, his paws patting across the flooring as he headed over to the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and stood, following him. I grabbed a can of cat food from the pantry and opened the tin. I used a fork to empty the contents into a small dish before setting it on the floor. Salem pounced on the food, immediately scarfing it down.
"Hungry kitty," I muttered to myself. Suddenly, there was a knock on my door and my heart frantically skipped a few beats. I drew in a deep breath before making my way over to the front door. I really had to calm down. I opened it and sure enough, Taehyung was standing there, a bashful smile on his face.
"Hey," he greeted and I stepped out of the way to allow him into the apartment. "Sorry to bother you. I'm sure that you must be tired after spending the day with Jungkook."
