Kate

By nine, we're both in our separate rooms packing up the rest of our items. I want to drive my truck to Arizona so I have to leave Tuesday and or today. Anna and Lee want to drop me off at school so I'm going to meet them at the airport on Friday.

An hour passes and besides the sunflowers on the wall, you would've never guessed that someone lived here. I grabbed all my bags and brought them to my truck. I already said goodbye to everyone, Stryder and I, hugging for a half hour. Lee and Anna were in the house, taking care of Delilah. As I open the door to my truck, Stryder stops and pulls me out. I'm about to argue but I physically can't because his lips have engulfed mine. We stumble into the garage, kissing even harder. Stryder starts to undo my shirt and I look at him worried. "Here? What if your parents walk out?" He smiles devilishly. "I've, let's just say, occupied them." I smile back and we start undressing each other as we were on fire. We kiss and kiss, until finally, we do it, on the hard concrete of the garage.

Let's just say, we're both going to have major bruises.

After another thirty minutes, I finally get Stryder off of me. "I really have to go babe." He whines. "We're going to see each other eventually. It's not like you're going to New York." He smiles. "That's true. Okay, let's get you ready." Even though I didn't need it, in any way, he helps me get dressed. We walk to my truck and he opens the door for me. I climb in, turning the key. Stryder shuts the door and I roll the window down. I pull him to me and we get one last meaningful kiss. "I love you princess. Stay safe." I smile, a tear escaping. He wipes it with his thumb. "I love you too babe." And I'm off. I'm officially an adult. I no longer have anyone to tell me what to do.

As I start driving faster and faster I think about my dad. "Here I go dad, the first major event that's going to change my life for good." I just imagine his smile, my heart hurting for him. "I'm going to become a good ol' accountant." I laugh to myself. It wasn't my dream job, but it made lots of money and I'm good at that type of math. Plus, maybe I could really enjoy this. I've already talked to one of the biggest agencies in Wisconsin. Although it was in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. A little far from home, but I'm going to make really good money.

As I'm crossing the border into Kansas, I notice a little food shop just a few miles away. My stomach growls. I drive into the parking lot and get out, stretching every limb in my body. It's been a good twelve hours and after this, I need to find somewhere to crash. I walk into the place and there's only two people here, a cook and a waitress. I sit in a booth, near the window. The lady comes over, reading their specials. It was all fattening fried food but I didn't care. "Can I have a sweet ice tea and a fried turkey leg please?" The lady smacks her gum but nods, walking to the cook and just telling him my order. I pull out my phone, looking at pictures of Stryder and I. Oh how I'm going to miss him. I smile to myself and start looking through every picture. By the time I finish, my food was being brought to me. I ate it in a good fifteen minutes. I pay and thank the staff, walking outside into the dark.

I get into my baby and start driving straight, looking for the first motel place I could find. After an hour of driving, I finally find one.

Thirty-five hours later, I'm stuck in traffic, four exits away from ASU. It was ten in the morning and I was surprised that it was so busy. But then again, it's summer and we're right next to a college. Lee and Anna called to say that they couldn't make it, but I wasn't disappointed, I was actually kind of relieved. I pull into the parking lot, getting the best space I could at such a busy time. I check my phone for my building and room number then I start grabbing bags. I only have four and I can't hold anymore. Me being me, I really didn't want to come all the way back so I start thinking strategically. If I put this one, on top of this, then may- "Would you like some help little lady?" A man with a heavy southern accent asked. I turned around to a gorgeous, six-foot blondie, who was scrawny, but it looked really good on him. He had a cowboy hat on with some really nice boots. There was stubble, covering his chin and he had bright blue eyes. He clears his throat and I snap my eyes up to his. "You good ma'am? You've been staring for bout' two minutes." I laugh nervously. "Y-Yes I could use some help." He laughs a deep laugh but nods, grabbing the rest of my bags. "Show me the way, little lady." I nod and start walking to my room.
