"Alright grandpa, how do I look?" I ask grandpa, turning around to showcase my final outfit. Today wasn't a typical day for me because I'm on my way to a "photo shoot" for a boutique located in a bigger city around here. It's only an hour away from here so it's not that inconvenient and I'm getting paid good money, so why not?

"Great like always, Codi girl. You make that dirty ol' hat shine." He says proudly in his smooth natural drawl.

"Thanks grandpa." I smile gratefully, "Alright, I'll probably be back after supper so don't wait up, but save me some dessert." I say after grabbing the knob of the front door.

He points his worn out finger, "You got it, Shorty." Oh man I love that man with my whole heart. I drag my suitcase full of my cutest accessories and clothes to my pickup, tossing it in the backseat. I start the pickup, plugging the aux cord into my phone, and sending Weston a quick text before I leave the ranch.

I open the screen door of the old saloon that looked like it was just pulled out of an old western movie. I walk in to see many beautiful women in the room, talking to each other while looking at clothes and cameras. When they notice me they all great me with a warm welcoming smile and hello, "Hi, I'm Codi Dalton!" I smile charmingly, then I meet the other "models", the women who owns the boutique, and the photographer.

"You're the mustang trainer in Cutthroat, right?" Maddie, a model asks me. "Mustang Codi?"

I chuckle at the name everyone calls me, "I guess so." I confirm as I blush a little.

"That's so cool! My dad's friend had you break a mustang last summer, he absolutely loves that horse! Well to be honest, my dad and I were looking into adopting a mustang, how would we do about that?"

Before I could talk to her more, Natalie calls for us to start the shoot. "Let's talk after!" I say to as we gather around the photographer. We stand in a circle, listening to the directions from the Natalie and the photographer. After a few of us go to the bar counter, grabbing props such as old moonshine jugs or pistols to pose with.

At first it was a little awkward for me to find a pose that wasn't well, awkward. It's not like I'm an actual model and know how to correctly position my body. In reality, I was just modeling a tee shirt for the online boutique. But the cool thing is that all of us girls helped each other out. And after a while, I was starting to get the hang of it and it was beginning to get really fun!

We did group photos, head shots, and doubles and triples. We modeled graphic tees, blouses, jeans, shoes, earrings, necklaces, a few dresses, and hats. Although, it did kinda suck taking pictures outside in the cold, but it was 30 degrees so I guess it was a really nice day for this time of year. It was so much fun basically playing dress up with girls who loved fashion and loved to have fun! We got to act like we were back in the 1800's like genuine outlaws, my grandpa is going to have a hoot when he sees the pictures.

Now we were all sitting at the bar counter, having a drink, but I was drinking the provided cream soda since I have to drive back. It was nice talking to a bunch of girls who I barely knew, but it felt like I'd known them forever. That's why I like the cowboy/horse community, a bunch of outstanding friendly folk. "No offence Natalie, but I think the only thing that could make this shoot better is that if there was a couple of cowboys for us to pose with." A girl from Jackson says making us all laugh.

"I'm sure my cowboy wouldn't appreciate that." Maddie says with a sorry look. A couple other girls call out 'mine too' nodding their hands and tipping their drinks.

"What about you, Codi? Aren't you dating a roughie?"

"Oh yeah," I say knowing all about the 'roughie' stereotype, "But Weston really doesn't get jealous, just cause he knows I can take care of myself." I grin like a fool because of Weston's reasoning for not having the need to be jealous.
