((This chapter is slow just so you're prepared))
Zona and I casually strolled through the isle of the grocery store, following the list of needed items and occasionally the picking out the few randoms that always come with grocery shopping. Today was actually Weston's parents' anniversary so we've spent the whole day with them. Weston helping his dad move the cows and bale, and I stayed with Zona and learned about quilting as she was starting a new project. Now, we're picking up some things before we cook dinner.
"Do you think we need oregano-" My question was interrupted by a female voice.
"Zona!" Zona and I both turned our heads to face where the voice was coming from. I vaguely remembered the girl from Dick's barbecue way back when, her name was Melissa Goldade.
"Oh hi Melissa, nice to see you." Zona says kindly but hesitantly.
"I saw it was your and Jack's anniversary on Facebook, so happy anniversary!" She laughs like it was supposed to be funny she brought it up after mentioning the Facebook thing.
"Thank you." Zona repeats her kindness although I knew she didn't want to be talking to this girl on her anniversary.
Then she turns to me like she didn't see me standing there, "Is this your niece?!" She asks with a fake curiosity. I'm positive she knew damn well who I was.
"Actually this is Weston's fiance, Codi." Zona says luckily so I didn't have to break it to the poor girl, who I now remember seeing obsesses over Weston at the barbecue.
"Fiance?" Her smile drops, "I didn't know he was engaged?!" She's back to faking her smile, at least try to make it seem real. It was such a pageant horse smile, "When's the wedding?" She asks Zona rather than me.
"We haven't picked a date." I finally speak.
Now she fakes a disappointed look, "Oh, don't want get the hopes up anyways." She says like it's a good thing, turning her cart around as she says, "Nice to see ya, Zona." She she says crinkling her nose with a grin.
"Well she just crowned herself the only ex of his I don't like." I say to Zona, recalling the two other girls I met to be very friendly and actually personable.
"They didn't even date." Zona says surprising me.
"I wonder why..." I nod rationally, "I should set Justin up with her, hopefully they'll both drive each other out of the state for good."
"I'm afraid if they were together they'd blow up the entire state." She says making me laugh.
"It's best if they both stay single for the rest of their lives and not procreate more of them into this world."
"A sane person can only dream.."

"How ya doing, sweetie?" Weston's dad Jack asks me as he wraps his arm around my shoulder and kisses my head after the two of them come in from the fields.
"I'm alright." I gently smile as I hug him back, "Weston's takin care of me."
"As he should." He says as he lets go of me, "Smells real nice in here ladies." He compliments between his wife and future daughter in law.
"Yeah and you don't." Zona chuckles as she puts the casserole in the over. Jack laughs at his wife of 31 years as he waves her off heading towards their bedroom.
Then I feel strong arms wrap around me from behind me, "Oof, you too mister." I say as I remove his arms from me, turning around to face him.
Weston looks confused, "You'll hug and kiss me covered in cow and horse shit but not with a little oil and dirt? That hurts sweetheart." He says playfully.

RomanceCowgirl Oxford defines cowgirl as "a woman who herds and tends cattle, performing much of her work on horseback". Codi Dalton and Chayni Anderson would agree to this definition, but will argue that it is missing a few pieces to it. Cowgirls aren't...
