But at that moment, that very precise moment, my phone died.
"UGGGGGHHHH!!!" I screamed.
I grabbed my phone and charger charging to my car opening it and driving probably over the speed limit but I still kept going, making marks with my hands on the car wheel.
When I reached Aris's house, the whole neighborhood was quiet, no chaos, no ambulances, police cars, just pure silence. As I looked at everything confused I ring the doorbell and once Aris opens the door I could tell it was urgent.
"Aris what happened?!"
She then started to well up tears.
I led her to the living room finding that everyone was either crying or had puffy red eyes.
"What happened?" I asked as I sat Aris down.
She sniffed back her tears trying not to cry, "He... he's...dead."
As I was close to shutting my whole brain and collapse I luckily caught myself by sitting down next to Aris.
"Who died?"
She looked at me deeply like if trying to send me the answer, and frankly she did and I understood, then we all started to cry again.

The next day after we all had our moments yesterday we went to the funeral, all of us, as in, Maria, Aris, Joyce, Noemi, Amaris, Dani, Rebecca, V, Jin, Namjoon, Jungkook, Suga, Jimin and me had to prepare a speech.
When it was my turn to go and say my speech I couldn't keep tears from falling so I let them go as I stepped up to the stand.
"My name is Maggie, and I've known this loving and caring person for 5 years and those 5 years were a precious time when they lasted so as a last farewell
Jung Ho-seok never change and don't listen to those who are against you. Thank you."
Everyone started to applaud as I went back to my spot.
~
After the funeral the whole rest of the day I sat on my bed looking down at my hands just thinking back to the moments I had with Hoseok. The doctor said he was good to go, why would he just lie to us in front of our faces, or did they really have no clue this was coming. A little speck of trust was losing itself. Sometimes when life surprises you, you don't want it to surprise and stay predictable, too bad that can't happen, especially since this hurts me so bad that I wonder if those who took care and loved Hoseok for their whole life really feel right now, and it can't be hurt since a loss like this isn't going to be repaired.
~
The day of school comes back and hits me hard as I quickly get my stuff ready and rush to my car and straight to school hoping not to be late and luckily I wasn't.
"Hey Maggie."
I turn around standing face to face to Peter.
"Oh uh hi, what's up?"
"Uh nothing much, I just came by to turn this in to Mrs.Lev."
I stare down seeing a stack of papers in Peter's arms.
"Do you need help?" I ask.
"Sure," and hands me half of the stack.
As we start walking I can feel the awkward energy between us making it into just a sad memory as he says, "Sorry about your friend."
I suck the breath of defeat and sorrow, "I can't say I'm fine since that would be a lie, so I'm just going to say that somehow I'll recover."
"Ah, that bad?"
I nod.
"Well here we are otherwise."
We turn the corner and, to me not that expected, I bump right into the door, falling backwards dropping all the papers.
"I am SO sorry," rapidly picking up the papers.
"It's fine," and helps me too.
The door opens and Mrs.Lev comes out.
"Dear me!"
"I'm so sorry Mrs.Lev," I apologise.
"That's quite alright, let me help."
After picking up every single last paper, we brought them in Mrs.Lev's office.
"What is a student like you doing here?"
I turn to Mrs.Lev noticing she was talking to me.
"Oh well I didn't have anything to do so I offered Peter a hand."
"I've noticed you're a very nice lady miss Maggie, and I'm very sorry about your friend."
"Thank you, and I'll somehow recover."
Mrs.Lev gives me a sympathetic smile.
"Your a strong lady, I know you'll recover somehow, now off you two go, I bet you two have other things in mind to do."
BbI give Mrs.Lev a last goodbye smile and we both head off to wherever my feet took me until I saw my friends.
"Well I'll be off, I'll see you later."
"Alright see you," giving me a side smile.
Walking towards my friends they all give me weird glances, "What's wrong?"
"What's up with you guys lately?" Noemi asks.
I can feel my face turn red.
"Uh no, why?"
"Uh huh, that's what they all say," Aris adds.
"No really, there's nothing between us, were simply just friends."
"I'll be your priest!" Joyce exclaims.
"Um excuse me?"
"Oh and make sure I'm invited to your wedding or I'm going to come and find you and demand another wedding!"
We all laugh and something was missing in our laughter, and that was Hoseok, there was a little tiny space that opened to an empty box.
I could tell one of them, at least one of them wanted to cry but I followed Mrs.Lev's words and held on strong.
Lunch was even worse. There was complete silence, not the normal chitter chatter and gossip that usually goes around. I felt uncomfortable and usually I'm use to weird and awkward energy, but not this one cause I wasn't use to this one with friends.
"Did you guys hear that the school board is planning to get Kiana out of here," Rebecca chims in, trying to make the energy more positive.
"Really?! I would be grateful if they did that, in fact I will actually pay attention to school," Aris adds, "Well you guys know me better so it's better not to lie."
Everyone lets out a soft laugh, so I decided to chim in also.
"No, if they DO, do that I will finally be free to ask Peter out."
They all look out me and let out a, "Ouuuuuuuu!"
"Stop it guys, or I'm changing my mind."
They laugh for reals this time and I join in to, there's nothing like a good laugh with your best friends.
*Aris, Rebecca, Joyce, Maggie, Noemí, and Maria, please report to my office*
We all turn to the speaker and look at each other.
Oof.
