Nights That Stress You Out

"Hoseok he-"

I waited for a response, and the whole street went quiet.

  Then Da Won's face started to form a smile so bright, the afternoon light seemed to shine more.
She came crashing into me and gave me a big hug, then whispered in my ear,

"He's going to live Maggie, my brother is still going to live."

  I started to well up in tears, and hugged her tightly back, and felt the water droplets go down my face. V then joined the group.

  We all let go then Da Won stared at V, as if he was familiar and seen him somewhere, but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"Do I know you?"

V stared back at her, and he looked like he knew exactly who she was.

"Hoseok sister?"

She looked at him carefully and then a spark came on her face.

"Ahhhh, you must be one his friends," she squinted, "Taehyung right?"

I looked at V and saw his expression change into serious, and extended his hand.

"It's V."

  I sneaked a peek at Joyce to see her reaction and to my surprise she was pleased, in fact happy, but still having a tint of pink in her cheeks, probably even more.

Da Won extended her hand too and shook.

  When V let go he looked at everyone, and his eyes landed on Joyce for 5 seconds and moved to Maria, his face turning bright, and I saw a little pang of anger on Joyce's face but kept serious.

"You Maria?"

She nods, and he goes up to her putting both of his hands on her shoulders.

"I'll wait for you guys inside," Joyce says, as she was making her way to the front door of the hospital.

I watch her go inside and turn to V still talking to Maria, and see her blushing.

I walk closer to their conversation, explains very much why Maria was blushing.

"He say you very pretty."

Maria looks away for a moment then looks back at him.

V lifts his arms off. 

"Let's go and check on Hoseok shall we?" I say.

   V  walks beside me as we walk to Hoseok's room, when we reached he was talking happily with Aris, just seeing them both laugh and enjoy their time together made my heart feel warm inside. When Hoseok spotted us he signaled us to come over.

"Ah my dear friend V."

They both hug as if long lost cousins. I turn my face serious, when Hoseok looks at me he asks, " What's wrong Maggie?"

"Well first of all I'm grounding all of you," I point at everyone in the room, "For messing with me and pretending Hoseok was going to die."

"What a tragedy!" he says.

We all start laughing.

   I came back exhausted from everything that the first thing I did was flop head first on my bed, after a few hours I checked my phone and it was 1:03 A.M. and then look up at the ceiling.

Life really gives you surprises.

BZZZZ BZZZ

  I groan from tiredness, and pick my phone off the nightstand not even bothering to look at the ID.

"Hello?"

Maggie?

"Yes? Who is this?"

It's Aris, and you need to come to my house right now, everyone is already here, we're just waiting for you, this is urgent.

I quickly sit up from my bed.

So urgent that if you don't come right now you might not make it.

"Then I'll be there in 10 minutes!"

MAGGIE!

"YES!" I say frantically.

But at that moment, that very precise moment, my phone died.
