Tumbling into a ditch in the middle of the forest probably wasn't my best move. And having some guy on top of me also wasn't part of the plan.

Jackson was just killed right in front of my eyes. I had fell backwards in shock, and snapped a few branches. One of the men had looked out of the window and made eye contact with me.

Terrified, I ran away.

I was certain I was being followed, and I was right. The guy who had been looking out at me was running towards me at an unnatural speed.

I came to the edge of a ditch and stopped in my tracks, but the guy who was behind me couldn't stop running in time. His body collided with mine, sending us both hurtling in to the mucky ditch.

After wincing briefly, I looked up at the man on top of me. Sweet Jesus he was attractive. Scary, definitely, but attractive.

"If you wanted to be on top of me you could have just asked." I said, trying to sound confident but failing miserably as I stumbled over my words.

He scowled at me for a minute, causing my to gulp in fear. The man pulled himself up off of me, then reached out a hand to help me up.

Realisation finally kicked in that this guy had been where Jackson was killed and had now followed me all of the way here.

"Who the hell are you?" The guy asked just before I was about to say the exact same thing.

"Um - I - If  I tell you do you promise not to kill me?"  I asked shakily. He nodded somewhat smugly. "I'm Stiles. Stiles Stilinski." I said  firmly.

He held out his hand. "I'm Derek Hale" Derek smiled cockily.

"H-Hale? As in the werewolves? " I asked nervously. I mentally cursed myself for saying something so stupid. He was probably going to laugh in my face. Werewolves weren't real and I was just some idiot kid.

Instead his face just dropped, suddenly sad. "How do you know about that?"

My breath caught in shock before I spoke. "I spend too much time on the internet." Was all I said. "You mean there's things about me and my family online for anybody to read?" He asked, suddenly furious. "I only found it because I was looking up Beacon Hills legends. I doubt anyone else ever will." I said trying desperately to reassure him. He could kill me in a second.

He was silent for a while. "What are you doing out here?" Derek asked. "I was curious." I replied simply.

Suddenly, I seen the shadow of a man at the edge of the trees above us. He was slowly transforming into something else. Much bigger than an average human and much hairier. Air was coming from it's nose and  a low growl was audible from its mouth. My mouth hung slack at the sight. I was terrified.

Derek must have read it on my face as he turned around and muttered,"Shit."

"What is that?"  I asked, trying to hide the fear in my voice. "It's an alpha wolf." He said backing up towards the trees, blocking me behind his body. "It's my uncle."  He said angrily,  before throwing me towards the trees for cover and barrelling towards the gigantic beast.

I wasn't expecting to wake up to a path of rose petals, leading from my bed to out the door. But that's what I got. The temptation to laugh at how utterly stupid it was was taken over by my awe at the fact that this was for me.

Scott must have forced him to do it, but I didn't care.

I got up from my bed and followed the path. I thought about my dream and how Derek had saved me when he didn't even know me. It was the first time we had met yet he still risked his life for mine.
