"Um, I guess we should get this started," Luther said standing from his seat. Klaus and James were at the bar making drinks.
"So, I figured we could have a sort of memorial service, in the courtyard at sundown. Say a few words, just at Dad's favorite spot." Luther continued.
"Dad had a favorite spot?" Vanya and James asked.
"You know under the oak tree. We used to sit out there all the time. None of you ever did that?" Luther asked.
"nOnE oF yOu EvEr DiD tHaT." James mimicked, "We weren't all dad's favorite like you were space giant," James said from the bar, Miles snickered at his father's antics.
"Will there be refreshments?" Klaus asked sarcastically, "Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner." Klaus said moving over to the living room.
"What? No. And put that out. Dad didn't allow smoking in here." Luther said.
"dAd DiDn'T aLlOw SmOkInG iN hEre, and yet we both still did it no matter how hard you tried to get us to quit," James said, stealing the joint from Klaus. He took a hit before passing it back. Miles looked at his dad, "Wait, you still get high? Dad! You could've taught me how to roll a good blunt!"
"Hush that's something I will teach you after this fiasco is over," Klaus said, patting Miles' head.
"Is that my skirt?" Alison asked.
"What? Oh, yeah this. I found it in your room. It's a little dated, I know, but it's very breathy on the bits." Klaus said motioning to his junk while waving a joint around.
"Listen up. Still, some important things that we need to discuss, all right?" Luther said trying to play leader.
"Like what?" Diego asked.
"Like the way he died."
"And here we go," Diego said.
"It's at this point, you've lost me, and I need another drink," James said standing up and finishing his drink before leaving to the bar. He knew how his father died, but was going to let Luther have his little game of trying to figure out what killed his father.
"Make me a short one too dad!" Miles called out. Resulting in his father's reply with 'well come pick your poison kid.'
"I don't understand. I thought they said it was a heart attack." Vanya said.
"Yeah, according to the coroner," Luther said
"Well, wouldn't they know?" Vanya asked.
"Theoretically," Luther said.
"Theoretically?" Alison asked.
"tHeOrEtICaLlY," James said.
"I'm just saying, at the very least something happened. The last time I talked to Dad, he sounded strange."
"Oh, quelled surprise!" Klaus said gurgling his drink.
"Strange how?" Alison asked, trying to get to the point.
"He sounded on edge. Told me I should be careful who to trust."
"Luther, he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles," Diego said standing up and walking towards his brother.
"Plus, who the hell you gonna talk to on the damn moon? Aliens? The sun?" James teased standing up.
"No, he must've known something was gonna happen." Luther said brushing the male off, "Look I know you don't like to do it, but I need you to talk to dad." He said turning to Klaus.
Alison scoffed and Klaus pointed at himself. "I can't just call Dad in the afterlife and be like, "Dad, could you just... stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take a quick call?"
"Since when? That's your thing." Luther said. Resulting in James sending the larger male a harsh shock of electricity through the floor. "You know that's not how it works right? You can't just treat him like a human Ouija board." Luther jumped and glared at the smaller male.
"I'm not in the right... frame of mind."
"Your high?" Alison asked.
"Yeah! Yeah! I mean how are you not, listening to this nonsense?" Klaus laughed.
"Well, sober up, this is important," Luther said. The black-haired male sighed and looked at his brother who was leaning against his legs on the floor.
"Then there's the issue, of the missing monocle."
"Here we go."
"Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle" Diego muttered.
"Exactly. It's worthless. So whoever took it, I think it was personal." Luther said looking pointedly at James and Diego. "Someone close to him. Someone with a grudge."
"Where are you going with this?"
"Oh, isn't it obvious, Klaus-" James cut him off "He thinks one of us killed dear old daddy-o." Everyone stared at Luther like he grew two more heads. "You do?" Klaus asked.
"How could you think that?" Vanya asked. "Great job, Luther. Way to lead." Diego said before walking out of the room.
"That's not what I'm saying." Luther tried to reason.
"Your crazy, man. You're crazy." Klaus said setting his drink down and standing up. "Crazy."
"I've not finished," Luther said.
"Well, we have Number one. So have fun talking to air." James said, downing his drink, and linking arms with Klaus, his son since having left the room after Diego. "Sorry, we're just gonna go, murder Mom. Be right back." Klaus said, taking his brother, and leaving the room.
"That's not what I was saying, I didn't," Luther sighed. Vanya got up and followed after Klaus. "Alison." The curly-haired woman just walked right past him.
"That went well," Luther muttered to himself before leaving the room as well.
