"In five, four, three, two, This is Jim Hellerman, reporting live for Channel 2 News outside the Capital West bank at Main and Sixth. A group of heavily armed men stormed the bank not three hours ago and took an unknown number of hostages."
Inside the bank, a man was walking through collecting anything of expense. "Hey, get them behind the counter!" He said through a walkie-talkie and over an alarm blaring. "Now you've put me in a position where I gotta do something I don't want to do. Hmm?" There was a pause. "SHIT" the man yelled.
A young Alison skipped up behind the man. "Hey, get back with the others."
"I heard a rumor," Alison said. "What? What did you say?" Alison repeated her sentence, "I heard a rumor, that you shot your friend in the foot." The man looked up and cocked his gun before pointing it at his friend's foot. "Hey, dude. What the hell?" He said. The man pulled the trigger shooting him in the foot once and once in the arm.
"We just heard shots from inside the bank. It's uncertain if any hostages have been harmed in that."
In the crowd, someone yelled, "Up there!"
"There's some movement on the roof. Possibly law enforcement."
Luther fell from one of the skylights, and James came out from a back room and held onto the metal doorknob waiting for the man inside to grab it. Once he heard the knob jiggling, he sent enough electricity to kill anyone in the room. He wasn't worrying about hostages, as there weren't any in the room.
"Looks like one of the armed robbers has been thrown from the bank."
"Guns are for sissies. Real men throw knives." Diego said running into the room and throwing two knives at a man successfully killing and pinning him to the wall.
"I've been in many hostage situations, like this, and it can escalate very quickly."
"Get back you freaks!" A man said standing on the counter and pointing a gun at the children on the floor. "Hey be careful up there, buddy," Diego said. "Get back now!" The man yelled. "Wouldn't want you to get hurt," Alison said. "Or what?" Five said appearing on the counter behind the man. When Five disappeared again, the man angrily shot all his rounds at where he previously sat.
Five turned up behind him again and as he was turning around, James switched out the gun for a stapler without him noticing. He went to shoot at Five, but only staples came out. "Ooh! That's one bad-ass stapler!" Five said, then he smashed it into the guy's head.
"Although there has been no activity for a few minutes, we're gonna stay live in location to make sure we don't miss anything in this hostage situation at the Capital West bank."
"Do we have to do this?" Ben asked. "Come on Ben. There are more guys in the vault." Luther said. Ben sighed, "I didn't sign up for this." He sighed and went into the vault.
"Now we see the hostages. They-- They're free. They're scared, clearly, but they do seem to be unharmed."
Ben came out of the vault, covered in blood, and sighed. "Can we go home now?" He asked. James walked up to him and hugged him, before wiping some of the blood off his face.
"People are coming out now. It's not the armed robbers. These are young schoolchildren in uniforms with masks on. This is Jim Hellerman, Channel Two news."
"How did you get into the bank?" One person asked. "What happened inside?" Another asked.
"Why can't I go play with the others?" Vanya asked standing next to her father on a building's rooftop watching the others. "We've been through this before Number Seven. I'm afraid there is nothing special about you." Reginald said lowering his telescope.
"Our world is changing. Has changed. There are some among us gifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary. I have adopted seven such children. I give you the inaugural class, of the Umbrella Academy." Reginald said to the crowd.
"What happened to their parents?" A woman asked. "They were suitably compensated." James snickered and messed with Klaus' hair. "Are you concerned about the welfare of the children?" Another lady asked. "Of course. As I am for the fate of the world." Reginald said.
-present-day-James was laying on the floor playing with his younger son when he heard Klaus shouting from the living room. He picked Jayden up and went downstairs to see what all the noise was about. What he saw surprised him. "You always were a stubborn bastard! I don't know about you but I need a drink." Klaus said.
James watched as his brother reached over the bar and knocked over the urn that contained their father's ashes. James laughed causing Klaus to turn around and start laughing as well. Jayden slid down his dad's leg and ran over to Klaus laughing too.
The black-haired male picked him up and pointed the pile of ashes on the counter. "What's that?" The small boy asked. "That, dear boy, is Grandpa Reggie." James came over to them and smiled at the two. "Gampa?" The 3-year-old asked.
"Yup." His dad said mixing up a drink. "Ca I pway wif it?" Jayden asked Klaus. The older man laughed and shook his head, "No sweets, that's a dead person." Jayden giggled and nodded.
Klaus cleaned up the mess and the three moved into the kitchen. James cut up an apple and Klaus took a few pills when the others weren't looking. Music started playing, and James instantly knew who was playing it.
"Children behave"
Klaus looked up from where he was sitting on the table and made eye contact with his brother.
"That's what they say,
When we're together"James started to dance a bit, and so did his son.
"And watch how you play"
Vanya looked up from her spot on the stairs and Diego looked at the ceiling.
"They don't understand
And so we're"Alison started bobbing her head to the beat. Miles looked at a book on his father's desk from when he was a child, humming the song under his breath.
"Running just as fast as we can,
Holdin on to one another's hand
Trying to get away into the night
And then you put your arms around me"By then everyone in the house was dancing to the music. Until they all heard thunder rumbling and the music turn off. The urn slid down the table, and Klaus caught it. "Oh! Daddy?" James and Klaus asked.
Everyone rushed outside and stood by the door. "What is it?" Vanya asked. "Don't get too close!" Alison shouted over the wind. "Yeah, no shit," Diego said. "Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly. Either that or a miniature back hole. One of the two." Luther said.
"Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan."
"Out of the way!" Klaus shouted running out with a fire extinguisher. He threw it into the thing, and Alison yelled, "What is that gonna do?" Klaus backed up, "I don't know! Do you have a better idea?" He said.
"At least he was trying to help," Miles said standing next to his aunt -Vanya.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Everyone get behind me." Luther said. "Yeah, get behind us," Diego said standing next to Luther.
"I vote for running, c'mon!" Klaus shouted trying to leave.
A face soon became visible and out came falling was their brother. He stood up from the ground and looked at his siblings. "Does anyone else see little Number Five, or is that just me?"
