Chapter 3

Julia's POV
"Really!? that's sweet! let me see 'em Josh!" We told Connor why we were so late and apparently stitches fascinate him? weird I know.
"What?! No. get out of here" Bats him away
"Ah come on you left me at school for two hours the least you can do is show me!"
"No Connor! go away!"
"Boys.!" Chris says sternly "Seriously?"
I chuckle at their child like behavior in the car. The boys may find this funny, but I'm seriously worried about Josh, and I think Michele is with me on this. he seams off? Maybe not though I haven't really been around him for 6 years, but I'm worried.

Later that evening Connor went to a friends house and Michele and Chris were in bed Josh and I stayed up late. josh had to change the bandage on his head twice a day so he was sitting on the table and I was helping him.
"Thanks for helping me" he says
"It's no big deal" I say "trust me I've had to do this plenty of times with the boys"
He chuckles knowing how often my brothers hurt themselves "sorry we didn't get to do anything today"
I shrug "It's fine. Are you sure your okay?"
"I've told you guys I'm fine, it's just me head-"
"I'm not talking about your head" I peel off the old bandage revealing the freshly stitched wound
"Jewels, I'm telling you I'm fine I just fell-"
"You didn't just fall though, your leg gave out on you for a second time in the matter of two days!" I take a deep breath putting on the knew bandage "I'm sorry, you just scared me so much today" I didn't realize but I started to cry "and I don't even know why I'm crying" I chuckle
"Come here" he stands oh and wraps me In my arms "I'm fine okay?"
"I know" I stop crying "I was just so scared and you were passed out I just didn't know what to do"
"Shhh it's fine"
"Okay"
"Good" he pulls me off him "not stop being such a girl and let's do something fun!"
I laugh "okay"
For the rest if the night we watched tv and played board games. I know we're super cool! But in each other's eyes were still only twelve and we have six years to make up for.
"Okay tell me." Joshua says
"Tell you what?" I question
"What you really want to do tomorrow"
I laugh a little laying one of the cards in my hand down "I don't know this is the first time I've ever been here"
"Oh come on there has to be something!" he lays a card down on top of my own
"Well, I've always we wanted to go to the Golden Gate Bridge?" i say but it comes out as more of a question
"Ah San Francisco" he looks up from his cards grinning "I can get us there"
"Wait really!?" I say excitedly
"Yah why not I've only been there a handful of times"
"Ahh thank you Joshua!!" I hug him
He laughs "your welcome. oh hey careful I could look at your cards now if I wanted to" I laugh and pull away holding the cards to my chest
"Oh there is one thing though"
"What?" I raise an eyebrow at him
"Its five hours away. Which is unfortunate for you cause you'll have to listen to me sing for five hours in the car, because my singing stops for no one"
I laugh at him "I'll work through the pain"
"Okay"

"So what are y'all doing today?" Michele asks as she makes pancakes at the stove
"Oh nothing much, were just going to drive to San Francisco" josh shrugs next to me pretending like it's no big deal
"Oh really just a quick drive to San Francisco?" she eyes us suspiciously
"Well, yah of course you know, 'when in Rome'" I sit Down at the counter
"I see, and what might you be doing five hours away?"
"Well, Julia has never been to the Golden Gate and it is her dying wish to go there so Mom you see we have to go cause really she could technically dis at any moment!"
I try to hold back a laugh at hi dramatic wording but it's hard. I honestly don't know how he acts seriously everyday I would just laugh!
Michele starts laughing "Well then I guess I have to let you go if it's Julia's dying wish!" she returns to her pancakes laughing
"Yes!" Josh and I say simultaneously and high five
"Well then we're going to go now" josh and I stand up
"Okay, please drive safe!" Michele says
"We will! bye mom! love you!" he yells as we walk out the door
"Bye Michele!" then we run out the door like kids running after the ice cream truck

"You do know where your going right?" I ask Joshua skeptically
"Of course I do! Well not exactly but I have seri so if we get lost I'm good!" He smiles at me
"Why dose that not comfort me?" I say sarcastically
"So tell me this. How did you just completely lose your southern accent!?" I laugh a little
"What?! I still have a southern accent!"
"Oh please you sound like every other American"
"Wha-I'm offended" he puts his hand in his chest, hurt
"But seriously how does that just happen?"
"Why are you just now asking this I talk to you like everyday!"
"Well I didn't really notice until I compared you to your family"
He just laughs and shrugs "I don't know, hazard of the Job I guess"
"Well, that just means you need to come back to Kentucky more often. Do you realize you haven't been back home for like a year and a half?"
"I know I know I'm sorry I've been busy! good news your here for 2 years now!"
"Hey! don't try and change the topic" I hit him in the arm
"I'm not!" he defends "So I don't understand your going to collage for drawing? I mean your good enough already what more can you be taught?"
"No, I'm not going for drawing" I laugh "it's graphic design"
"Ohh okay okay that makes more sense now"
The rest of the five hour drive we talks about random crap that was barley relevant to anything and Josh actually did sing for hours! it was okay though cause I admit I did too it was great!

"Jewels" I hear josh say
I open my eyes tired from sleep "hmm?"
"We're here" he smiles happily
I look out the window and see it right in front of me. we are in a little parking lot right next to the bridge "Oh my gosh!!" I jump out of the car and stare at the giant beautiful bridge in front of me
"Pretty cool huh?"
"Amazing" I say in awe
"Come on" he takes my hand and pulls me along with him.
We go and sit on the grass by the edge of the water. we lad on our backs in the grass in silence for I don't know how long
"This is incredible Joshua" I look over into his Hazel eyes "thank you for taking me" I smile grateful
"Anything for my best friend"
