Chapter 10

Julia's POV

I pulled my chair closer to Joshua so we could play 'LIFE' on his iPad. we also pulled over the one small table in the room in between us and put the iPad on it. so we basically rearranged the whole room.

Joshua seams alright but I could tell the IV was annoying him because he kept moving the tube around and scratching his hand.

"How long has it been?" Josh asks

"Ah 30 minutes" I check the time on the iPad

"Uhg" he starts scratching at his hand again

"Josh stop messing with the IV!" Michelle swats his hand away

"Ah sorry mum it's just so itchy" he moans

"I know, just try to ignore it"

He nods taking his turn on the iPad.

"Hey guys" Chris says walking in

"Hi honey"

"Hey dad"

"Hi Chris"

"How you feeling Josh?" He pats him on the shoulder then sits down next to Michelle

"Fine, it's only been half an hour so" he shrugs

"How long is it gonna take?"

"Two hours" I tell him

Michelle and Chris start to quietly talk while Joshua and I continue our game. It's been about an hour now and josh and I are just talking now seeing as there's not much else to do.

"Hi everyone" I blonde nurse come into the room "I'm Ashley. I just came to check on Josh" I slide away a little to give her some room

"How are you feeling, Josh?" She asks listening to his heart

"Alright, just a little tired"

"Yah that's just a side effect of the chemo." she runs a thermometer thing across his forehead taking his temperature "just one more hour then you can go back to your room and rest" she pats his shoulder

"Do any of you need anything while I'm here?" She asks us all

"No, I think we're fine thank you" Chris answers

"Alright well page me if you need anything, Josh" she says walking out

"Okay" Joshua says and she leaves

Finally after what felt like 5 hours Dr. Perry came back in and said that Joshua was done now and could go back to his room. I think Josh was pretty relieved because he looked exhausted.
We went to his private room that was similar to his other room but had a few different machines in it because this is the oncology ward. He fell asleep almost as soon as he was in bed.
I pulled up a chair next to his bad and sat right next to him.

"Charlie, we're gonna get something to eat you wanna come?" Michelle asks

"Nah I'll stay here with him" I refer to Joshua

"Okay, honey" she says then her and Chris leave

I sigh and take Josh's hand in mine.

"We'll be okay, right?" I ask aloud not expecting him to answer

Josh's POV

I feel my stomach pitch. I groan audibly not ready to be awake yet, still exhausted. I keep my eyes closed hoping for the feeling to pass. it doesn't though it just grows worse and worse. suddenly my stomach flips and my eyes shoot open.
