-Alaska-

the furry figure emerging from the shadows was bigger than any i had scene as a kid. Wolves. Probably circling us, like prey.

"Shit," I mumbled as we all came to a stop, positioning ourselves in a defensive circle. It stared at us, moving forward until I could see more figures following it. It kept slowly creeping up until it stood, just a few short feet ahead of me, and raised its head, ears back as it sniffed at the air. It's eyes caught mine, and for a moment it seemed human- like us, lost and trying to find ourselves and survive, before its head tipped back and it let out a howl. When I studied it, his muzzle, white as snow, was faintly red. So I was right, I thought, the wolves had gotten Thomas.

I stood in a fighting position, ready to fight when it's ears picked up and the pack began moving again, past us.

"What just happened?" A voice called behind me. Jaxx. He hadn't talked too much the trip- he didn't talk much at all anymore. Not with thalia gone.

"Pack animals," I mumbled.

"They probably recognized as a pack animal and found us not a threat," I heard newt mumble with his faint accent. I glanced back at him, taking in his long, curling floppy hair, and bright eyes, square jaw, and let out a sigh. Things were different now, in ways I couldn't explain.

-newt-

A few hours later we could see the city limits. It wasn't like the rest of the country- ruins of huge cities. It was smaller, and although most the buildings had been damaged, nature had patched its way into the city. A river ran where a road once was, moose grazed through town. It was wonderful- utopia. I stood in awe, hearing Jaxx mumble something about power lines as something in the distance caught my eye. The outline of a person in the distance.

"Alaska!" I called turning back to look at her bright red hair, pulled high off her face. "Look mates, there's someone out there."

Flashback:

Sometime earlier this year:

I stepped through the wall, watching Teresa disappear as we made it to our new home. It didn't take too long for things to become some kind of normal- Minho continued to "run" looking for animal life and water sources, mapping our home. Brenda helped teach fighting, as well as explore the structures of this new place. No one knew where the chancellor had sent us, or if anyone in the world had survived, all we knew was we had each other. Though a couple hundred made it through, only a fraction of us had survived the last few months- 60 or so. It'd taken a few months to learn how to survive this world. But we'd figured it out.

I missed the outside though, the maze, the country, and newt. What I did to him would always haunt me.

"Thomas!" Minho called, running in from the woods that surrounded our home. "When are you going to run with me again?"

I smiled at that and stood from the post I had been on. "Let's go."

Now

"A him?" Ratchet asked me, stepping forward and squinting. "Definitely a him, authority figure, cocky maybe, he's got muscle-"

"You don't need to analyze him," rae snapped from the background. Alaska chuckled, pushing a stray hair away as she called sludge forward. "How fast can you get over there?" She asked, "quietly."

He shrugged. "To be honest I don't think we should split up, we don't know how many of them there are, if they're friendly."

Alaska sighed, rubbing her temples in irritation. "Fine, lets move. Quietly."

We kept to the edge of town, hidden by trees as we watched the figure. A few minutes later another figure appeared and said something to the guy, it was a girl, she disappeared moments later. We inched closer until the details of the guy became obvious- fit, muscled, spiked black hair, and my chest felt a pang. I watched him as he turned, he almost looked like-"Minho?"

This is short but I'll update again soon so whatever.

This is the part where I ask you for suggestions, if you wanna see something happen, TEEEEEELLLLLL MEEEEE, I'll try to make it happen. Anyway,

What do you think? Should Alaska and newt end up together? Or maybe someone new will come along...
