Chapter 10 Leaving early

The next day I woke up with Shane jr., licking me. I giggled and got dressed; I found my way to the living room and saw mom crying, dad trying to calm her down,and Austin sitting on a couch with his hands covering his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"We got sent early to our mission," Dad said.

"What!!! When are you leaving?" I said.

"Tomorrow at dawn," Mom said.

"This is so unfair. Why do you have to be in stuff? Do you think I don't need you?!?!?!" I screamed.

Austin looked at me while I ran to my room.

AUSTIN'S POV

I watched Alex as she ran to her room. I understand what she is going through since I went through the same thing. I looked at my parents and they were going to Alex's room but I stopped them.

"I'll go talk to her," I said.

They nodded and I walked to her room.

ALEX'S POV

I was crying at my bed when I heard a knock.

"Go away," I said.

"It's me, Austin"

"Do not enter"

He opened the door obviously forgetting what I had just said. he sat beside me and put an arm over my shoulder.

"Hey, it's ok we will see them again," he said."Oh come on you have me!!!!"

I laughed,"You think that helps."

"Well, it made you laugh and you stopped crying so I guessed it worked," he said.

I hugged him and whispered," Thank you."

"You're welcome."

We went downstairs where we found mom and dad with worried looks. I went over to them and hugged them tightly.

"I love you," I said.

"We love you too, sweetie," said mom.

We spent the rest of the day talking and doing stuff together just like a normal family would do. Austin challenged me to play a game at wii, but I got schooled by the master. We loved each other like any ordinary brother, and he understood me better than anyone. If I had to make a list it would go: 1. Austin and family 2.The girls and Shane.

The next day my parents left and besides being sad I was also happy because yesterday we spent it being like a happy and ordinary family.
