Chapter-19 The H Tatto

Okay she said.

Manik's Internal Monologue

"That okay meant everything to me literally everything. I know I've hurt her in the worst way possible but I don't know my mind just doesn't want her to leave me even for a second."

We sat in the car and she called her best friend Abhimanyu.

Nandini-"Yeah I've packed my stuff and I'm coming in an hour."

What!!! exclaimed Manik

Nandini- "I told Priya that I'll stay with her and Abhimanyu for two days till I shift into my new apartment. "

He moved closer and angrily whispered

"What is your problem
Nandini!"

Nandini angrily yelled back "You are my goddamn problem Manik!"

Manik removed her seatbelt and said

"You can leave right now!"

As he was removing her seatbelt his hand touched her back, his eyes landed upon the H tatto.

When they were dating Manik had asked her about the H tatto. She laughed her lungs out and said Manik it's not an H letter. See carefully it's two straight lines which signify two souls entwined in a string. A string of love!

Nandini left angrily and shouted

" The day you tell me why you broke up with me is the day I'll find peace!"

Manik looked at her with red shot eyes and said- "As if you don't know what you've done!"

No Manik I don't know what I've done to deserve this! she answered back with helplessness brimming out of her eyes.

Manik looked away irritated and said "Oh please! Just leave"

Nandini left crying as this time too Manik didn't answer her.

Manik was feeling mixed emotions he felt that maybe Nandini was genuinely unaware?

He straight away drove back to Rohit's  house.

What are you doing here? asked Rohit as he saw Manik this late at night.

Should I tell Nandini the reason I've broken up with her? said Manik anxiously entering his house.

Rohit made Manik a drink and said- "Here gulp it you will feel better!"

Manik gulped the drink down. He laid on the sofa with his head hurting really really bad.

Manik with aching pain in his heart exclaimed

"Rohit tell na should I tell her? She cries everytime she doesn't get an answer from me!" before Manik could say anything more he dozed off on the sofa.

Rohit walked upto him and smirked "My dear little best friend wait and watch how I turn your life upside down you won't ever be able tell her!" He said and laughed.

Manik and Rohit became best friends when Manik's childhood best friend Kabir left abroad for higher studies.

Nandini reached Abhimanyu's house and Priya heartily welcomed her. She was having dinner with them when she said

"I'm shifting in two days so need to buy some stuff will you come with me Priya "

Priya- Of course Nandini!

Nandini was in deep thought thinking about how Manik avoids her one goddamn question!

Manik who had dozed off due to alcohol didn't know what his best friend had in stores for him. A betrayal that would ache his heart forever.
