Virus - A Zombie Novel

August 13th 2014 (Same day)

"You look gorgeous." Willow says smiling looking at me. All the girls stand together dressed up, staring at each other. Willow wears an olive coloured flowy dress with sleeves that fall off her shoulders. I think it may have a few layers of tulle under the skirt. She wears her hair in a low bun at the bottom of her head, letting pieces out and dangle, which looks amazing. Bennett wears a tight red dress that has a layer of black lace on it with spaghetti straps. I over hear Zara telling her she looks like a sexy devil; but I think she looks awful. Her strawberry blonde hair is out and flat and doesn't suit the red dress. Plus she wears red shoes which makes it look worse. Zara wear a peachy gold strapless flowy dress that hugs her top half but hangs loose on her bottom half. It really suits her - especially the shiny gold heels she wore with it. Her hair is out and in its naturally wavy state, which compliments it completely. Nikki wears a blue sparkly tight dress that only has 1 sleeve that goes down to her wrist while her other arm is bare. Her hair is done up in a tight bun with a silver metal flower on the side.

"Wow." Nikki said walking up to me.

"I know, isn't it beautiful." I said running my hands over the material.

"Hey, I can tell we will be best friends." She said smiling. I looked up - shocked - that she had jumped to that quickly.

"I bet." I say smiling. She grinned and walked away leaving me confused at what just happened.

"Girls should we all go down?" Bennett called. We all called YES back and made our way for the door. This was the first time I had done something fun in a long time. We all exit the bedroom and start for the stairs. We turn the corner and I can now see the boys all waiting in the grand foyer - wondering what's happening. I see Beau look up and see us, and he nudges Grey next to him. He looks up and instantly lands his eyes on me. I try to play cool as he smiles while watching. We all begin to walk down the stairs, making sure we don't trip in our heels. Bennett's first to touch ground and she headed straight for Nolan. Next was Willow who walked over to Beau who made her stand back he could look at her. Everyone basically had someone to talk to except me, who stood alone, while Grey stared at me. He walked through the crowd of over dressed girls and perving guys, straight up to me. I felt awkward standing there, waiting for him to reach me. I could also predict how awkward it will be when he reaches me. He pushed past Parker who was complimenting Zara on her dress. Finally, he took his last step and then he was in front of me.

"You look good." He said clearing his voice.

"Good?" I say raising my eyebrows teasingly. Why am I doing this?

"Beautiful, gorgeous, perfect. All of the above." He said half smiling. He definitely was not gay.

"Look, I can explain about the other night -"

"It's okay Alex, you don't need to reciprocate the same feelings, I can live with that." He said.

"But -"

"Alex, let's just have some fun tonight." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me into the dining room with everyone else.

"It was a pleasant surprise to see all the girls dressed up tonight!" Parker said holding an empty wine glass. "Unfortunately for us, no alcohol was saved for tonight, let alone any night we've been here, so strictly water. But that doesn't mean we can't have fun!"

"Thank you for the suggestion Zara to have this night together, we should cherish each other while we can." Nikki said. Her comment made me look at Grey, but he was looking away.

"Let's party!" Bennett called holding a glass full of water up. We all cheered.
