Note: Sorry for the late update, I was in exam season but I'm back! Later on today or tomorrow we'll have chapter 17.
After 17 hours...
And countless pictures to remind herself she was once in a 10 million dollar private jet.
The aircraft landed in Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
The lie she told started to feel well worth it.
The single door of the jet opened and someone was already waiting for her, as she stepped outside, the cold air of December greeted her softly along with a pair of shiny smiley eyes.
Theodore was leaning against a black Mercedes wearing that, I-knew-all-along, cheeky smile on his face.
"You sneaky, little..." She tapped into his chest with each word but he shut her with a kiss.
"Welcome to Shanghai, my dear."
The car ride from the airport to the hotel was filled with her gawking and gazing from the window, taking in the beauty of what they called: "The New York of China." She was in love with this futuristic city. There was so much to see and so much happening at the same time.
They didn't say much during the drive, Theodore simply watched her, as creepy as it looked, he couldn't put in words how happy he was to have her there with him.
"What?" Madison asked feeling a bit embarrassed for only noticing now that he had his gaze upon her this whole time.
"Can't look at my girl?" His voice was husky and warm, sending chills all over her body.
It would take a lot of self-control not to jump on him during this trip.
"Oh no Theodore, I can't afford here..." Her words came out before she could control it when she saw where they were parking. As embarrassing as it was, it was true.
"Did I say anything about you paying for it?" He said getting out of the car not even giving time for her to explain.
"But, but... Agh!" She stepped outside trying to stop him and the bell boy "No, no, no. I already had a place in mind in..."
"You must think I'm crazy to let you stay across town alone? We're in Shanghai Madison. I'm not letting you out of my sight."
"Theodore..." Fuck you and your daddy tendencies.
Theodore asked the bellboy to take her bags upstairs, walking her inside the Tomorrow Square, a futuristic style building rising 60 stories above downtown, being one of the highest skyscrapers in the world. Also the location of the JW Marriott in Shanghai.
Madison was trying very hard to keep her jaw on her face and not mop the floors of the entire city of Shanghai.
"Is this your office?" She was confused to why they skipped the reception desk.
Yes Madison, he is taking you to stay in his office because it makes perfect sense. – Her conscious mocked her.
"No." He seemed amused at her questions "The Marriott occupies the last 15 floors of the building and the reception desk is on the 45th floor. I hope you're not too scared of heights, our rooms are on the 49th."
"Jeez, thanks for the early notice Theodore!" She sarcastically remarks.
Looking at the small screen of the elevator, he chose to tell her this while they were stuck in a metal box on the 38th floor and going up.
The check-in procedure went very quickly, they were out of the elevator and back within minutes, finally reaching the 49th floor.
"My room is right in front of yours." He pointed out. "If you need anything, anytime, just call."
