Jesse's backpack was slung over her shoulder and her walking pace was rather slow.
Her glowing cheeks were tinted a faint rosy red and her brow occasionally furrowed.
Her arms were crossed over the and her soft gaze was locked on the swaying blades of tall dewy grass.
The crisp wind picked up and her straight, lose dark brown strands of hair swayed gently and she mused thoughtfully.
Her eyes were kinda dull, no glimmer or shine visibly there today. She glanced up, uncrossed her arms and tugged on her beige overall strap.
Jesse sighed heavily and anxiously fiddled with her backpack strap. Her mind was clouded with worries and frustrations and she bit her ruby colored bottom lip as she entered the school's gate.
Almost immediately someone grabbed her wrist and instantly she rose her eyebrow, but dropped it once she realized who it was.
"...Hey Reuben," Jesse said rather wearily.
"Hey to you too sleepy head," Reuben said with a faint chuckle afterwards.
Jesse smiled a bit, her rosy cheeks expanding.
"Come on," Reuben whispered, tugging on her wrist a little harder.
"Ok ok," Jesse said, following Reuben as he lead her back out the front gate.
Jesse rose her eyebrow again, hundreds of questions fluttering like butterflies in her head.
"Where are we going?" She asked her best friend.
"You'll see," Reuben said, his coffee colored eyes glistening playfully.
Jesse muttered something under her breath and Reuben smiled softly.
"I know you hate surprises, but... Bare with me on this one," Reuben said as he lead her swiftly.
Jesse could see Axel and Olivia, waving, from where she was.
Jesse waved back at them and then glanced at Reuben who she assumed was up to something.
"What are you planning?" Jesse asked, curiosity on the tip of her tongue.
"You'll see," Reuben said once again.
"Hurry up slowpokes!" Axel shouted.
"Yeah were going to miss it!" Olivia said, her hands on the handle of her bike.
Reuben let go of Jesse's wrist and got on the bike with Axel while Jesse sat behind Olivia.
Almost instantly she started pedaling quickly and headed in the direction of the city.
"Woah," Jesse said, as she jerked forward a bit, "..Since when do you guys skip school!" Jesse exclaimed.
"What do you mean you do it all the time so why can't we?" Reuben asked.
"I know, but you guys never skip!" Jesse exclaimed, over the whooshing of cool air.
"Ha, well this is a special occasion!" Olivia says as she pedals swiftly.
Olivia pedals up a hill, passing houses and buildings that were lining up both side's of the street.
Her dark purple pigtails flapped in the wind and everyone's hair swayed hastily in the wind.
The rest of their ride was filled with Axel's cheers of excitement and chuckles from Reuben and Olivia.
Jesse had a straight face for most of the ride and she held onto Olivia tightly.
