         - Three Days Later -

Reuben was rummaging through his locker when all of a sudden he felt something thin fall on top of his hand as one of his dull book's fell to the side.

Carefully, he grabbed it and observed it.

The photo was rather small and the corner of it was bent a little.

It was of him and Jesse.

She had her arm swung around his neck and a bright grin was on her face while Reuben had his tongue stuck out as he looked up at her.

Reuben bit his soft bottom lip and slowly slid the photo into his pants pocket.

Quietly, he sighed and then swiftly grabbed his textbooks.

Lockers slammed shut beside him and he felt a heavy tap on his small shoulder.

Reuben glanced over his shoulder and a tiny grin grew on his face.

"Hey Axel," He said softly.

"Hey Reuben.... Um," He rubbed the back of his neck causally, "Have you seen Jesse? I've been meaning to show her my new and improved joke," Axel said, smirking slyly afterwards as he wiggled his brow playfully.

"Sorry Axel, she's absent again," Reuben said.

Axel's face fell slightly, "Awww really, I thought by now that she'd be here."

"So did I, but now I'm growing a bit...," Reuben trailed off.

Axel raised his brow a little.

"Worried," Reuben finished.

"Oh well," Axel cleared his throat, "Elle sera probablement ici demain."

"Uh..... English please," Reuben said, his eyebrow raising. Axel laughed and clasped his large hands together.

"I basically said, she'll be here tomorrow," Axel said.

"Oh."

"Look I got to go to class so...," Axel patted Reuben's back firmly, "See ya at lunch?"

Reuben nodded, "Yeah, See ya."

---

Reuben was doodling in his notebook while the teacher was busy writing things on the board.

"And what was Rome's first emperor?" The sable haired teacher asked.

A hand swiftly shot up into the air.

"Go ahead," The teacher said with a faint sigh, as he glanced over his shoulder.

"Rome's first emperor was Augustas," Maya said softly and smirked afterwards.

"Yeah, and when was Rome's downfall?" The teacher asked.

Maya's hand rose into the air again.

"Somebody else, besides Maya," The gruff teacher said.

The older teacher stroked his beard and his vibrant hazel eyes darted around the classroom.

"How about... Reuben."

Reuben's doe eyes shot up to the teacher's.

"Huh uh... What was the question?" Reuben asked as he started to tap his foot against the ground.

"If you would've been paying attention you would've have known," The older man said as he pinched the bridge of his nose for a moment, "Anyways, when was Rome's downfall."

"Oh... Um in the 5th century," Reuben said as he tapped his fingers against his desk.

"Hmm correct, but next time actually pay attention," The ebony haired man said sternly.

"Yeah Reuben," A muffled voice said from behind him.
Stifled laughter was heard afterwards.

Reuben glared at Aiden who was chuckling and Aiden narrowed his lime colored eyes.

Reuben glanced away from Aiden and stared blankly at the teacher who was busy writing something down on the large whiteboard.

Reuben shifted a little and he really hoped that Jesse would be at school tommorow.

Perhaps he would ask James why she hasn't been at school lately?

---

Why do you think Jesse's not showing up to school? Do you think something's going on?

Anyways, (this goes for all my ongoing book's), but updates are going to be really slow and reason being I'm really busy (And I hate to say/write that tbh :/)

Anyways, that's all for now and hopefully I'll see you in the next chapter -Mcsmfangirl1
