CHAPTER FOUR

WITH TIME WE LEARN, WE FORGIVE AND WE FORGET

"Y/N!"

"Yeah?" I turn around to find Clem and AJ jogging over to me.

"We're going to go around the zone then come back in a few minutes. I want you to stay here though, to keep an eye on ...him" Clem told me looking off to the side. "Yeah okay but be careful, I want you both back in one piece and preferably alive too. Is anyone else going?" I queried looking around for the others as they both nodded.

"Violet and Louis but they're going to leave ten minutes after us"

"What? Why?"

"It's just a precaution so that if we do bump into those raiders again they won't be able to take all of us and if the other two catch up in time with us if they do show up, they can either come back here and alert the rest of you or try to help us. Don't worry though I don't think that'll happen." She said placing a hand on my shoulder for reassurance but it wasn't really working; Louis and Violet had joined us by then and nodded along as well.

"Don't worry we'll all come back." Louis said with his signature smile while Violet just looked away. "You better. And I mean all of you!" Said moving into Violets line of vision to make her know I didn't just mean AJ and Clem.

"I know we've been at each other's throats a little as of late but I'd hate not to see you guys walk through those gates with the rest of them, so please be careful!" I told them placing a hand on both Louis and Violets shoulders. "And you don't need to worry about Marlon, I'll-..." I started but got cut off by Violet.

"Oh don't worry I won't be!" And with that she crossed her arms and gave the door a cold stare. That poor door. "...I was gonna say that I'll keep my eye on him but I'll doubt he'll do much. He's too ashamed of himself to come out of his room let alone do anything! The only reason he came out of his room before is because I shouted at him if he didn't and gave him a lecture. But I also think you need to understand, if only a bit, about what kind position he was put into you know? 'Put yourself into their shoes' type of thing. It's only then you'll find a way to forgive him and each other... damn...I sound like that reverend father back in my old group!" I said with a halfhearted huff, scratching the back of my neck.

"But enough of my babble! Come. Back. Safe...please..."

After that they left and Violet told the group that they have put Mitch, Aasim, Ruby and myself in charge. They chose the boys because, for the time being, they were the oldest but put Ruby and I in charge as well because we can keep the boys from doing something unreasonable a.k.a kicking Marlon out to the walkers.

I sat down in front of the little graveyard they had made. The graves they had for Sophie and Minerva are pretty meaningless seen as how we know the truth... but I guess there's hope that they're alive now. Uhhhhh I'm gonna go check on him, he hasn't eaten anything since yesterday now that I think about it.

I was walking along the corridor until I was stopped by someone tugging at my sleeve. I turned to my right to see Willy looking at my arm that he still had a hold of.

"You good kid? Ah sorry not that you are one or anything it's just I'm used to calling AJ that and he doesn't seem to mind but I just called it you on impulse now that I think about it Benji use to call me 'kid' or 'kiddo' but I didn't mind it either but that's because he was older than me an-..."
